By reading previous postings, I noticed that the price for weekend is much more expensive than week days in Santa Barbara area.
In the past few days, I tried to bid a hotel room (1/14/2010-1/15/2010) in Santa Barbara on Priceline.com.
Here is a summary of my bidding history:
$50 santa barbara 3* failed
$55 santa barbara, Golen 3* failed
$60 santa barbara, Golen3* failed
$73 santa barbara, Golen 3* failed
$55 santa barbara, Golen 2.5* failed
$50 santa barbara, Golen 2* failed
$60 2* ACCEPTED- Sandpiper Lodge!! Finale.
Hello,
Sorry for the late response. We just stayed for one night on May 15, 2010.
We liked the hotel room a lot!
I started a bidding from $30, and selected 2 stars and half hotels in LA downtown.
After several trials, I finally got a room at Kyoto Grand Hotel And Gardens with $55 ( $70.29 after tax).
The hotel locates in Little Tokyo area. I've been there in spring, 2009, but stayed in a different hotel (Miyako hotel). I really like the neighborhood there; food, stores and Union Station were in walking distance.

We bid for $55 per night ($66.79 after tax) for our stay in Santa Monica area between 1/11/2011 and 1/14/2011. And the price was accepted by Marina Del Rey Hotel. This hotel also provides free parking, which is a plus.
