  1. Doh. That's how I know I'm po'd!

    Marriott Courtyard Gwinnett.

I was really really hoping for the Hyatt Place again.

I can't seem to determine if the Marriott's internet is free or not and if perhaps they've ditched the 19" tube tv for something a little more modern.

If this was one night, I wouldn't be so annoyed. But it's my vacation. Grrr. Serves me right for wanting to save a buck.

  2. I gotta say, PL is pi**ing me off!

I am re-bidding every 24 hours...like I'm supposedly allowed to, and they keep cutting me off. Greying out options that I haven't used in the last 24 hours.

Anyone have a strategy for me? Ideally looking at eastern end of the city, airport, etc.

I really don't want to spend more than $100 US (I'm in Canada), but I will if I have to. Regular rates are up there in the $150 range. Damn holiday weekends!

I prefer not to go below 3 stars. But again, will if I have to.

  3. Not sure what zone you are bidding on.

I have twice bid for a room near Buffalo airport, zone 2 (Cheektowaga).

First time was January 2010, and I got the Millenium.

Second time was May 2010 and I got the Millenium. My May bid was for $50. I can't remember my January bid.

Amherst isn't THAT close to the airport. The Millenium is right next to Walden Galleria and is literally a 5 minute drive from the airport...especially early in the morning.

  4. I tried your dates again for the same area (I've been there twice) and I get $59/night, 3 star, amenities listed as breakfast, fitness center, and internet. I don't think it's the Hyatt as the Hyatt has a pool. So does the Holiday Inn Gwinnett Center and Holiday Inn Gwinnett Mall. There are like 10 hotels in the actual city of Duluth, so it shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down.

  5. Just got back from this trip. We arrived at the hotel around 3 pm. I had called the hotel once looking to secure a king room, and my boyfriend called twice. So it was supposedly on file that we had requested a king room.

We check in, and take the nausea inducing glass elevator to the 18th floor, to find 2 double beds in our room. Big boo.

So, my bf calls front desk, asks for a king, advises we called 3 times asking for a king. Apparently, they are sold out. So, we go down to the lobby. My bf goes to front desk, and I try to get online to find another hotel because I am not sleeping in a double bed while my bf sleeps in another bed when we are celebrating a special occasion.

10 minutes later, my bf secured us a king business suite in the renovated portion of the hotel. Amazing how the girl on the phone said they were sold out, but after asking twice (in person), and advising the front desk that we would be leaving if a king was not available, a king was suddenly available. Hmmmmm.

Anyways, the room was great. We had a great time. I don't know that I would stay there again though. The hotel was almost too big. There were like 10 conferences ongoing and the lobby was packed at any given hour of the day.

  6. start from $30. $38 was accepted 4.2-4.3.

Then do the same thing again. $36 was accepted 4.3-4.4.

For some reason I think that's the only hotel you can get on priceline for the Buffalo airport area! I won a room there a while back (before I joined this board) and that's the only hotel I've ever seen posted for a win on Priceline.

I have to bid for a Buffalo airport hotel again in a few weeks. We'll see what happens!
