  1. Hard to really call this much of a deal, but it's the high season and I needed a big room at a nice resort for the family.  The best price on the Starwood web site was $326 non-refundable, so this is certainly a better deal.

    Priceline Express

Displayed as 4* North Scottsdale Area Condo

    Amenities listed:

Free Parking, Business Center, Free Internet, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Condo, Fitness Center

    Bed Choice Available

    Guest Rating 8+

    For the bed choice,

The standard, less expensive, choice (235) is described as:

    1 Bedroom Villa - 1 King Bed - Nonsmoking - Kitchenette

The upgrade (258) is described as:

1 King Bed - Nonsmoking Villa

The upgrade is the Premium villa (870 sq ft, full kitchen) vs the standard (530 sq ft and kitchenette).  I chose the premium (358 at Starwood site)

Guests at the villas also have full access to the regular Westin Kierland resort / hotel  property nearby in addition to those at the Villas.

  2. I used Priceline Express for this booking. The amenities shown were Free Internet, Pool, Free Parking, Restaurant, Business Center. It seemed like Hotwire had what was probably the same property for $99, so I thought this was a good deal. I didn't bother trying to do better with Name Your Own Price. Plus, this property is all suites and has no resort fee.

I did use the PRICELINE link above to make the booking.

  3. I used PRICELINE EXPRESS for the first time. I needed a pet friendly property. This is shown upfront as a guaranteed amenity. That's a big advantage over Hotwire if you travel with a pet. So while I may have been able to get a better deal with Name Your Own Price, it was worthwhile to know a pet would be allowed. And, for reference, HOTWIRE was showing a 4* Downtown at $101. So I think this is a still a good deal.

    Guaranteed Amenities:

    Free Internet

    Pets Allowed

    Restaurant

    Business Center

    Fitness Center

    Guest Rating; 9.0

I used the PRICELINE link from a post in Bonus Money Opportunities. But, unfortunately, coupon had expired...

  4. $118 for the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. They are supposed to have great Christmas activities: Musical tree / Santa / Train. When I saw this on Hotwire, I tried to sneak up on a better deal with Priceline. However, I was unsuccessful. I used the HOTWIRE link above.

    Amenities

    Resort Fitness Center Pool(s)

Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services

Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom

    Handicapped parking Roll-in shower

  5. We booked 2 rooms for Easter weekend. I was expecting to find something in Scottsdale, perhaps the Firesky Resort. I searched 4* and up for Scottsdale and Phoenix North (and many other rebidding zones). I bid using $5 increments beginning at $70 until $105 was accepted.

I just learned there will be a $25/night/room Resort Fee. Boo. But this still looks like an excellent property.

I booked using the PRICELINE link above.
