Just placed and won this bid as follows for the Courtyard by Marriott in Traverse City, MI. I didn't have any background to go on or any ability to re-bid since this was the only zone in the area. Hotel prices at $169 & above on their marriott.com, with slighly lower rated hotels such as Quality or Days in ranging at $134 - $164. Hope I got a good deal!

Just a question though on PL, when they 'encourage' you to bid higher, are they targeting a specific hotel then (in our case, the Wellsley Inn)? My original comment was based on the fact that I would have been happy in either zone, but I may have incorrectly assumed that my $28 recommended bid would have potentially garnered me a hotel in either location.
Originally bid $22 (Carrollton/Addison & Plano/Frisco). Rejected, but came back with offer to raise by $6. Since I couldn't do any free re-bids in the area at that level, I went to $28 and was accepted at this location. I probably should have only put in one zone initially, then added the other one after the rejection to give myself a free re-bid (that would have worked, no?).

Interesting tidbit (and this might be old news as I haven't used Priceline in awhile), when I first went to the site via the BB link, the price entry was actually a slider bar that didn't let me go below $66. After closing my browser and going back to the site, it gave me back the original entry field where I could type in the desired price as usual.
