First bid at $170 for Downtown area only.
The American College of Cardiology Meeting is next weekend, and I've been at this for days with no luck, with bids as high as $230 for 4-stars only.
They must have released a number of rooms today, as the Hotwire rates fell, and this was my first attempt on Priceline. A bit sorry I didn't start lower today.....
Done. Thanks for any help you may have.

New Haven used to be the best place to use PRICELINE. The Omni was the only 4* hotel in the area, so you always knew exactly what you were bidding on, and excellent offers were frequently accepted. I just saw that the Omni was downgraded recently to a 3*. This places it in a category with the Courtyard Marriott in New Haven, as well as the Holiday Inn in North Haven and the Clarion in Hamden. This is very bad news for priceline users. I can't imagine why the Omni would be downgraded, as it's far and away a better hotel than the others in the area. Only reason I can think of is to prevent the PRICELINE success that was so easy in New Haven. Stinks.
Bid $125 on Areas 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Got the DoubleTree Metropolitan Hotel on 51st and Lex. Had tried up to $150 for 4-stars in same area.

Thought about Priceline, but info here indicated The Joule was not available as a 4-star, name-your-own-price option on PRICELINE, so opted for HOTWIRE.
