  1. I was pleasantly surprised by winning this at $68 as I was told that February is a busy time and room rates are higher.

Started at $64 for North Scottsdale 3.5*, added Apachee and raised to $66, added Scottsdale and bid of $68 was accepted.

I was in charge of finding rooms for myself and 2 colleagues for meetings so fingers crossed this hotel doesn't disappoint. The website looks great (don't they all?) and they have pretty good reviews so I'm hopeful.

  2. I've been trying to book something for over a week now, with no luck going as high as $85. This appears to be a new hotel and is not currently on the Better Bidding list. I feel fortunate to have found something reasonable with the Festival going on.

7/22-7/26 Hilton Garden Inn (92 Peter Street) $78

Lowest rate on their website was $135/night with advanced purchase.

Thanks again for everything you do. I used the PRICELINE link, of course.

  3. Started with 3.5* at $65 and played around adding a free rebid at that level and raising to $70 before dropping down to 3* and adding Hacks Crossing (no 3* hotels).

The reviews are mixed on this hotel but the price is right. I think I read something about a remodeling so hopefully it will be fine. This (likely) hotel through HOTWIRE is 3.5* and has been around $69 so this is a few bucks cheaper.

Thanks again for all you do to help us save money. Of course I used the PRICELINE link.

  4. Now it's my turn to post my winning bid since my daughter was selected for GA All State Chorus!

Started at $82 for 3.5*. Rejected but got the message to add $22. I rejected that and added free rebid Savannah West and raised to $87. Accepted! Best price on Marriott's website is $156.

We stayed here last year for the same event and were thrilled to win it again. Much quieter than the hotels close to the Civic Center, which are full of school groups, so a better option for our family.

Thanks for all the effort y'all put in to maintaining the site (and correcting my bad formatting of the title information). I've saved a lot of money by getting smart about bidding.

Of course I used the PRICELINE link.

    Thanks again.

  5. This hotel was very nice. It is immediately off exit 68 I-4 (turn in at the blue gift souvenir shop or you'll miss the entrance). Our room had 2 queen Sleep Number beds (hint: do not play with the bed to see what happens when it gets to 0!) and a fold out couch in a small sitting area near the window.

Very clean. Great location near the parks. Just one light down and make a left to the Downtown Disney area. The staff was very nice and gave great directions. A few blocks walk to restaurants and a grocery store. And yes, they do have complimentary cookies in the afternoon.

My only complaint is the difficulty of getting in and out of the property. You cannot make a left due to the traffic pattern so must always make a right. Getting back in from that direction involves going under I-4 about half a mile up and making a U turn.

Other than that, a nice hotel that has been coming up at an amazing value.

  6. I needed two beds as I'm traveling with my father so even though I may have been able to get slightly cheaper on Priceline, I wanted the certainty of bidding for 2 adults, 1 child and guaranteeing 2 beds (I hope- that's the way I interpreted the Hotwire guidelines!).

I did my research and was pretty sure this was the hotel I'd get and am pleased. The location is great and the price is less than half of what I've been able to find elsewhere. Trip Advisor reviews are good.

Of course I used the BB HOTWIRE link.

Many thanks for everything y'all do to help us get a great value for our travel dollar.

  7. Just returned from 4 nights at this hotel. The standard Priceline room is what they call a petite Queen (one queen size bed). We were offered an upgrade to a deluxe King for $20 a night but since we were literally only sleeping in the room, it wasn't worth it to me. There is a $10 per stay (not per day) charge to access the pool and health club.

Based on reading other reviews, I expected a closet size room but it was fine. Nice flat screen tv, desk with chair. Nice sized bathroom and closet. The room was clean and suited us just fine.

The location at 222 Mason was centrally located. Directly across the street from the Hilton and Parc 55. Lots of restaurants in the area. 2 blocks to a cable car and buses were everywhere.

One odd thing is the front desk checked us in for our flight and printed boarding passes as they had no public computer available for me to do this. I would have preferred to do it myself.

No problems and would definitely recommend this hotel.

  8. I am super-excited! After having no luck with reasonable rates for the Historic District, I rethought my plans and decided to try for the beach.

4* Mt Pleasant- Isle of Palms $80, rejected

They offered rebid with a $22 increase

Added W. Charleston and increased bid to $86

    ACCEPTED!

This looks like an amazing hotel and I'm sure I'll be pleased.

Thanks so much for all your help and, of course, I used the PRICELINE link from this board.

  9. I didn't save the search and I don't remember which hotel was $135- sorry.

I see what you mean about there being lower prices for Thursday evening. Seems like there's plenty of availability and I'm willing to keep trying. I can stay in pretty much any area but not willing to give up on the Historic District just yet!

Thanks so much for all your help. Each time I bid, I use the PRICELINE link.

  10. I am unsure why I'm having so much trouble getting 3* in the Historic District for this time period. I have been trying every 24 hours for days, going as high as $87. Two rooms, maybe?

I'm seeing lots of availability. Prices from $135 up on Priceline set rate and Hotwire for 3* so my bid is usually enough to get something.

I prefer not to go over $90/room/night. Going that high, I usually don't have a problem.

Thanks so much for any help you can give. Any ideas?
