  1. posted as 95% recommended with free internet and restaurant, apparently they moved it from the Union Square West designation to confuse us but the 95% recommended was a clue that it is the Chancellor or a hotel of similar quality. Ranked #10 out of SF hotels by trip advisor and most reviewers seemed happy it, even more so than many 4 and 4/5 star properties so I am hopeful about my stay. Broke up the bidding into two three night blocks so I guess I have to check out and check in at midpoint which is a hassle but better that than committing 6 nights and getting something which could be unsatisfactory.

  2. started at $175/night and gradually added 3.5* ratings and neighborhoods, went down to $155 without success. Went up until $185 and added additional NYC neighborhoods eventually snagging the Hudson which I am happy with. Have been there before, nice location. Tiny rooms but will try to upgrade when I get there. Good luck & good hunting! :) In hindsight, could have gotten slightly cheaper 3.5* in the Chelsea/Penn station area on hotwire (either doubletree or new yorker ramada plaza according to Better bidding NYC index) at $175/night (plus tax & fees) but still happy with Hudson hotel as it is in a good neighborhood and with a boutique feel.
