  1. Hello,

I know there are some of you that are struggling with the NYE reservations. For those of you who have a AAA membership, if you go onto AAA-texas.com there is South Point Hotel for 45$ Dec. 30th and 110$ Dec. 31st. I'm not sure if it matters if you're not a Texas resident because I've used AAA discounts before and they never ask for the card. This hotel is really nice, i think it's a 4* near the strip. That is a huuge deal compared to other shady 1-2* hotels that are going for 200$ for NYE. If you don't have a AAA, you can still go onto southpointcasino.com and their prices are 70$ and 150$ for those days.

    I hope this helps! :-)

  2. Ooo I love Williams. It's a really cute small town. There are a few lakes in the area you can check out or walk around the historic downtown(very small). I use to live in Flagstaff which is only 30 min away. You should check it out as well if you're passing by.

Since you mentioned Treasure Island I wanted to suggest this site http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/treasur...ionalcodes.aspx . Here is for Paris http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels/paris/p...ionalcodes.aspx . There are a bunch of promotion codes for hotels in Vegas that many people don't find out about. I used the colors promo on my last trip @TI but I'm not sure if you will be able to for those dates.

I was originally going to use priceline for a 4* or 5* north but they don't have much of a selection in that area. For a 4* North hotel I believe your only choice is Caesars Palace and a 5* Trump, Palazzo, or the Venetian. So if you don't want to take your chances with getting Trump(off the strip) in North or Luxor in South maybe you can look at the promotions going on right now.

Oh and tripres.com has buy one night get one free for some hotels. The cheapest I saw a room on there was 30$(weekday) at The Orleans hotel which means you only pay 15$ a night. Thats pretty cheap and then you can even get a free room upgrade if you just ask nicely. ;-)

    Good luck,

  3. I recently got back from Vegas and I have decided thats definitely where I want to go for New Years. No, I don't think you are planning too far ahead. I was checking the other day and some hotels are getting sold out for a standard king/queen room. The prices on the strip were too much for me for Dec. 30th-1st Jan. I found a really nice and fairly new hotel South Point http://www.southpointcasino.com/ for $70 on 30th and $150 on 31st. The rooms are about $70-80 before NY and $120 after 1st. It is not that far off the strip and they have a free shuttle. The $150 might be too much for me if I don't get 3 others to split the cost. Especially since the NYE private parties cost between $100-300 a ticket. So I'm going to book the 31st also at Homestead Studio Suites Hotel for $80 or maybe try someplace cheaper in Henderson or Boulder City which isn't too far away if you have a car and don't drink.

So try to at least book something now because you can always cancel it if you find better deals with priceline or elsewhere. You don't want to wait too long and find out only the expensive hotels are left. travel.yahoo.com is a good site. Also, smartervegas.com has promotion codes but it's too early to find some for new years or they might not even offer it for the holiday.

Lemme know how the hotel search goes. Have fun!

  4. I was going to try a 5* on north strip but I didn't want to risk getting Trump and not being on the strip. So I decided to go with a 4* North instead. I found a really good deal with my AAA for 70$ Planet Hollywood. I would like to see if I can get something for that much on North Strip. I'm willing to go upto 90$. On priceline Caesars is priced at 262 so that probably won't work. Mirage and TI don't even come up as choices. Are there any other hotels on North? Thanks!
