  1. I bid yesterday $40 and it came back offering $52. I didn't take their offer and Bid $45. It still didn't work, so I patiently waited my 24 hrs and tried again at $48. And it took it!

    Holiday Inn Express Cedar City

    Room Subtotal:$48.00 (USD)

    Taxes and Fees:$12.70 (USD)

    Total Room Cost:$60.70 (USD)

About 40 bucks cheaper than their website after taxes. I think this a new addition to the board as well!

  2. I would call and ask the front desk... if they say no, I would just talk with the shuttle driver. A nice tip will get you a ride anywhere in downtown. They may not take you all the way to the stadium on game day, because they will get stuck in the traffic. Most will drop you off across the river and you can just walk the 20 minutes to the field. It would probably take you that long to get through the traffic anyway.

  3. This is for the same trip so I am trying to keep in the same thread... feel free to move it if you need to.

I am now looking at HOTWIRE for my dates.. 12/25 and 12/26 have cars for about 15 a day... but 12/27 and 12/28 are double that.... is there a way to make a reservation for all 4 days but get the cheaper price for the first too? I know I could make two reservations... but I don't really want to drive all the way out to the airport to exchange the cars... Any advice/experience?

  4. Flying home for xmas and want to get a rental car. I am flying out on the following wednesday at 3:30pm so I will need the car that day. When I put in my specific times, Princline says I can't use their bidding. If I say I am returning the car the next day by noon though, it lets me book. Will I have any trouble returning the car on that wednesday if I said I was goin to return it thursday morning?

    Thanks for any help!

  5. I understand resort fees benefit to some and I can see how they are a nice deal sometimes, but there is one problem that makes me just hate them. Say you book a room for $100 on priceline/hotwire. You get to the property, and there is a $75 resort fee! I know most of them are not that high, but who's to say that it can't happen?

  6. As a PRICELINE / HOTWIRE customer, you stand a better chance of NOT being walked. I have worked at a few different properties, and anytime we had to walk a guest, it was never a priceline/hotwire customer. Why? Because the room is prepaid. Do you really think the hotel wants to deal with the headache of trying to refund PRICELINE / HOTWIRE and then have them try to refund you? No. We would much rather just not charge someone who has a reservation but has not paid for the room. You would think the hotel would want to keep the money of the person with the regular reservation, but its just not worth the accounting nightmare!

  7. I was trying for the 3.5* Hyatt which I have stayed at before and have really enjoyed, but I am very happy with this hotel as well. Number one on Tripadvisor for Fairfax, and at half price it can't be beat!!

As always I remembered to use the PRICELINE links. Thanks!!!

Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $41.00 (USD)

    Number of Rooms: 2

    Number of Nights: 2

    Room Subtotal: $164.00 (USD)

    Taxes and Fees: $26.92 (USD)

    Total Room Cost: $190.92 (USD)

  8. Just needed a place to rest my head for the night, and was hoping to get a place with breakfast so I was bidding on a 2.5* and wasn't picky on where in Portland the hotel was. To my surprise I was upgraded to a 3* and my $30 offer was accepted on my first bid! Was not expecting it to hit for so low!

I work for IHG, and once again priceline has given me a lower rate than my employee rate. Unbelievable!!!

I made sure to use the BB PRICELINE link.

    Thanks!!

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $30.00

    Subtotal: $30.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $10.99

    Total Charges*: $40.99

  9. I was bidding for anything Plymouth Meeting or Valley Forge, trying to stay close to Conshohocken. I was pleasantly surprised when I won the Residence Inn Conshohocken! I had bid $38 in Plymouth Meeting and got a counter offer for $10 dollars more so I knew I was close. Tried a few different star combinations (dropping down to 2.5*) and just singling out zones and finally scored!

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00

    Subtotal: $42.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $11.07

    Total Charges*: $53.07

    Residence Inn Conshohocken

    Plymouth Meeting Norristown

    191 Washington Street

    Conshohocken, Pennsylvania 19428

Thanks for the help! I made sure to use the PRICELINE link.

  10. Just needed someplace to sleep and didn't want to spend a lot. Seems like this will work out nicely. Tried 2.5* in Olympia, Tacoma, and the Tacoma area up to $45 and nothing was accepted, so started a new window (used the BB PRICELINE link of course) and bid on just a 2* in Olympia which was really where I wanted to be. Bid $35 and it was accepted. Probably could have started a few dollars lower, but am fine with saving almost 50% off the rack rate.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $35.00

    Subtotal: $35.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $11.72

    Total Charges*: $46.72

Thanks! I think this a new addition to the board too!

  11. Just a heads up for all of you trying to avoid the parking fee at the Hyatt... I parked on the street right near the hotel, free on the weekends. And unfortunately my car was broken into. Neighbors who talked to me while I waited for the police to come to file a report said that they have lived there for years and have never heard of such things happening, but just wanted to let you all know. Luckily they didn't get away with much, but I wish I paid the $20 a night just to park in the garage!!
