  1. Initial bid was $95, Priceline asked for a raise by $22 to rebid. I ignored it, added the Airport and raised to $100 which was accepted.

This is a dead time in Vegas, the Venetian website wants $169/night. I've got a comped room, this was for friends, so I'm happy we are at the same hotel.

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 3

    Subtotal: $300.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $40.98

    Total Charges: $340.98

  2. Tried to land the Hyatt or Westin with a low ball 4 star bid at $40 and $45 without success. Added 3* and dropped down to $40, incremented by $2 until the Hilton hit.

    Total cost (with tax/fees): $57

I've stayed at this hotel before when it was an Adams Mark. The hotel itself is only a couple of years old, the building in a prior life was an office building. The rooms have high ceilings and are pretty darn big. I think its a misclassification on PL's part, The Hilton is every bit as nice as the 4*'s (Westin/Hyatt) in Indy, and is much better than the OMNI.

Retail for that night is $109-134 plus tax. :)

  3. This one surprised me. I had been unsuccessfully bidding both Waikiki North and South zones (4*) for this stay for about the last 2 months. On a whim tonight tried $100 and landed it. It drives me crazy when a first bid is accepted, but it looks like I'm in line with the others that have landed this hotel...

    Your Offer Price: $100.00

    Number of Rooms: 2

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $200.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $32.74

    Total Charges: $232.74

  4. I think you have given up a lot. There's nothing wrong with the Hyatt, but you're taking a hit in location (the Doubletree is right behind the Drake and the Westin Michigan Ave, while the Hyatt is at the south end of the Mag Mile) and room quality (Standard Hyatt room vs. a 2 room suite at the Doubletree).

If you're collecting Hyatt points, they will give you a stay credit, so that's a bonus.

I'd call back and ask for a rebate, at least $15/night.
