I like Quickbook, they have some hotels that you can cancel. It's easy to book and cancel via their webpage.

I did the following as advised:

Select 4* MTE and MTW...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

I'd love to stay Downtown (great area and lovely 4 * hotels), but it will be intresting to explore new areas of NYC, and its actually equal where i stay. It's just me travelling so i'm flexsible.

My back up is Jazz in the City hostel at UWS, I have a single double bedroom with ensuite bath. The price is 60 usd + tax each night, so that price is unbeatable - I don't have to high expectations to that price though. My max is 150 USD, but I'll be happy if I can manage to get it cheaper.

I'm ready to start bidding right now! :)
