This is for an employee's one night so I'm okay with it.  Thought I would get Holiday Inn Express which I think would have been better.

  2. I thought I was going to get Valley River Inn, but ended up with Hilton Eugene.  $96 was price quoted and then total with tax and fees was $119.73.  Looks like I did well because their website rate is $264.00.

  3. I have been trying for 3 straight days and was worried I would have to pay more than $70 a night for this weekend around the the Lake Oswego/Tualatin/Wilsonville area for a 3 star or more, but today Hotwire emailed me that a 3* came up for $60 a night in Lake Oswego so I went to Priceline because I have learned you can bid less and get the same place. I bid $50 the first time and was accepted. This is a nice hotel and will work just great!

  4. Won this 3-star after several attempts at lower prices the days previous to the win. I did not have a good experience at all at check in and I have stayed here I believe 3 times prior with good experiences all through priceline, but this time I asked if I could get a room with 2 beds and I was told it may be an extra $25 to get 2 beds. The front desk clerk was unsure about the charge without checking with management who was not available. I told her that I have never heard of such an exorbitant charge to make a bed choice unless I have the option to upgrade to a suite. My experience is either you have a room available with 2 beds or you don't. But to pay $25 for a different bed configuration when I'm only paying $54 for the room is ludicrous in my opinion and to also say you don't know if I will be charged or not is ludicrous. I ended up leaving the hotel at 4 pm without checking in because I had someplace to be. I told her I can't make a decision on "maybe." I said that I would be reporting my experience online because this is the first I have had this experience in over 100 nights of booking through priceline. She tried to explain priceline rules on bed choice which I know by heart so her explanation was on deaf ears. Even when I don't get my bed choice, it's because it's not available and I say oh well I got a good deal. After I left I called the hotel's 800 number to give me a definitive answer on the charge, and all they did was call the same lady at the front desk and got the same answer. At least the 800 number person was nicer and not so argumentative. She actually listened which is by far better customer service than not listening and arguing.

Then I returned at 7 pm and I had to speak to the same front desk person who I ask to see if a decision is made on the price for 2 beds, and she says yes it's $25 per night. I try and explain that I would have accepted this much better if they were more organized on my first check in with answers on this, and it went downhill from there. I went on to say I will not be staying here again or using priceline in this area again, and she responded "hopefully." Apparently she meant hopefully this does not happen again but I understood it to mean hopefully I never stay there again. This was the worst priceline experience I have ever had and I plan on letting priceline know along with Sheraton.

The manager came to speak to me and explained the rules once again and would not listen to my prior experiences as I priceline customer, where I explained I have never been treated like this. She tried to be nice but I don't need a lesson on priceline which she tried to give me as well in front of other guests behind me. I need the hotel I check into to know what they are doing and I don't appreciate a $25 a night charge to get the bed type I would like if it is available. Seems very sketchy to me.

They did comp me a $10 a night rollaway but after all the arguing I would have preferred that they say 2 queens were not available instead of feeling scammed. Oh and the front desk person on my second attempt at check in said I "threatened" her. I said "in what way?!" Apparently saying you are going to post your experience online is threatening. Better call the police then I guess. Ugh!

  5. After using the PRICELINE link and trying for several days to get a 4* hotel I was finally successful at $95 today. On previous days I started at $60 and used re-bid zones all the way up to $105 but today I started at $79 and was told twice that I would be accepted at $102 which I declined and used the rebid zones for a final successful bid at $95. Yay! I was hoping to get this place. I guess they were more desparate today with only 2 days notice.

  6. Used the PRICELINE link and first tried a 3* in Lake Oswego for $50, then add 2.5* star and changed bid to $45 with no luck in the Lake Oswego area for this weekend at these bids. I didn't see anything on Hotwire for Lake Oswego either so I didn't think I would have much luck with these dates.

So I went back and tried 3* star Wilsonville for $50 and priceline said if I raised my bid to $62 I would be successful, so I declined and went back and added re-bid zone Tualatin for $52, then re-bid zone Woodburn for $54 and finally was successful with Holiday Inn Wilsonville.

  7. I feel your pain LT. I think $170 is my maximum for now Aaron. I am going to try closer to our dates and if I can't get anything then decide if we want bid on something else in the South Strip or just stay in our timeshare. The only thing I know that is going on is Columbus Day weekend. I wish I would have known this was a high price weekend. I bought 2 tickets to see Elton John a few months ago and he is there several weeks but I can't exchange my tickets for a different date.

I'll update the thread when we figure out what we are doing or if we place a successful bid.

  8. Used your PRICELINE link and I have bid up to $170 using up all of these zones:

    Boulder Strip

    Fremont St. Vicinity

    Henderson

    Lake Las Vegas

    Las Vegas Airport (LAS)

    Las Vegas Convention Center

    Las Vegas Strip North

    Near Las Vegas Strip East

    Near Las Vegas Strip West

    Nellis - Las Vegas Speedway

Should I wait until my dates are closer? Or does it look like I'll have to bid higher?

There is just 2 of us and I haven't bid 5* south since we would like to be near the North zone. I have a back up reservation at a timeshare for virtually no cost that is south of the strip. Thanks in advance.

  9. Used the PRICELINE link over the last 3 days trying to get a room in either Lake Oswego or Wilsonville. I started bidding for a 3* at $45 and went all the way up to $65. Then I added 2.5* in Lake Oswego and started at $40. After being declined a bid of $55 to finally win the Fairfield Inn, a 2.5* in Lake Oswego for $60.

I was getting worried because hotels for some reason this weekend seem to be full or close to full according to their own websites (Holiday Inn Wilsonville) and Expedia.
