  1. Started at $ 100, for a 4* in city center (museum Quarter) which was rejected. Then treid with $ 110 and the price was accepted. :)

    Here are the hotel details:

    Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre

    City Centre And Museum Quarter

    Piet Heinkade 11

    Amsterdam, The Netherlands

    31 20 519 1200

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$110.00

    Subtotal: US$330.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: US$34.49

    Total Charges: US$364.49

Price per night, including taxes come to about $ 122. I am pretty happy considering this is around the New Year.

    Thanks for all your help.

  2. You are correct, I think I might be able to get a 3* for a lower price. Can you recommend how much I need to bid to get a 4* in central venice. The median retail price in priceline is $338 for a 4* and $304 for 3*.

My total budget for a 9 night stay in Europe is around 1K. In your opinion do you think I will find good accomodation for this budget. My Travel agent recommended the following for Venice. Are these any better than the Eden hotel you recommended?

    Kette- 3* - $175 per night

Albergo All Angelo- 3* $175 per night

San Julian- $175 per night (googled it but could not find the star rating)

    Rialto- (4* I think) $190 per night

    Thanks.

  3. Sorry for not making my request clear in the first post. I am looking for the least expensive 3* hotel or for a 4* hotel in the $ 100 to $ 125 range. My main objective is to have lodging for my entire Europe trip to be around 1K. I will be spending 9 nights, 2 each in Rome, Florence and Venice and 3 in Amsterdam.

I would prefer 4* hotels but, I also know I have a budget limitation so my minimum start rating is 3. Location is important as all these cities are our first time visits and we would prefer to not spend a lot of time searching for places to visit, which is unfortunately what I do more often than not. I am also searching through non-opaque channels and my travel agent receommended the following for Florence, which I thought were pretty expensive.

Monna Lisa- 3* $175 per night

    Grand Adriatico- 3* - $175 per night

    Montreal- 4* - $87 per night

    Rex- 3* - $91 per night

    Alamanni- 2.5* - $109 per night

Any suggestions how to proceed would be appreciated. I will also keep you informed of my finds.

    Thanks,

    Phani
