Yes, that's correct. Sorry for the late response!
Dear expert priceline winners:
I haven't read too much about whether bidding in Brooklyn is a viable alternative for Manhattan. Has anyone tried? How safe are the neighborhoods? Is it convenient to get into Manhattan? Can i expect to win with lower bids than what we've been seeing?
If not, should I also consider Long Island City? Which is better, Brooklyn or Long Island City?
Your feedback is appreciated!
:)
Thanks to those who posted the last few $150 wins. It motivated me to keep trying! We'll be there from 10/05-10/07.
Tip: it seems as if anything longer than 10/5 (we originally wanted 10/2 or 10/3 to 10/7) just did not work.
We're trying to bid again for 10/2-10/5 at the 3* around the $130; I have reservations in Brooklyn for a $129/night 2* establishment as a back up plan. Any advice on chances?

Using the HOTWIRE link from this site, we booked the Extended Stay Deluxe in Bothell for $46.
Amenities include free continental breakfast, free parking, laundry, fitness, kitchen.
Will be staying 9/17/07-09/18/07.
After several days of failed bids (over 10) for a 4* hotel in the Seattle area, I gave up on the 4* only after losing at $125. I then chose the 3* level at a bid of $115 and got the Sheraton Bellevue Seattle East, from 09/10/07 to 09/12/07.
It was a very frustrating process, as the hotels in the Seattle are just seemingly sky high during this time of year!
Should we bother with Brooklyn?

Thanks for offering to help!
We are flying into White Plains on 9/30. From 09/30-10/02, we will be renting a car and going into Connecticut.
On 10/02, we'll drop our car off and take the train from White Plains into Grand Central Station.
We're looking for a place to stay between 10/02-10/05. Our itinerary's quite unplanned. We're hoping to go to the MOMA on Friday evening, 10/03, to take advantage of their free admission.
My max bid for 10/02-10/05, I'm hoping, is $155. Right now, I have a back up reservation at the Quallity Inn Brooklyn for about $120 a night. But the tripadvisor reviews are making me have serious doubts about it! :)
From 10/05-10/07, I already won a bid from priceline, for Hilton NY in MTW for $155/night.
