  1. Parking is $20 to $30 at airport hotels. I have gotten the CP Redondo for about $60 a few years ago on Priceline, but I don't think you can get it at that rate for the weekend. You may want to do the airport hotels on the weekend days and try for the CP on the weekday days. You can get either Westin LAX, Renaissance LAX (4 stars) or Hilton LAX or Crowne Plaza LAX (3.5 stars) for about $60 particularly on weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun nites). They are all very good hotels, although there is nothing around them except the airport.

  2. There is nothing there, it's just a bunch of hotels and an airport. Would recommend Redondo/Hermosa/Manhattan area for beaches, West Hollywood area for nightlife, or Orange County if interested in Disneyland area or beaches. All can be pretty expensive, though. The only reason to stay near airport is for price and/or flying in and out of.

  3. In the past six months or so, I've booked a lot of 3 stars $60 LAX and always gotten Radisson, Crowne Plaza, Hilton, and once Embassy Suites. Recently, in late February 2007, I booked it and much to my surprise, I got Hacienda Hotel. This hotel is barely a 2 star, let alone a 3 star. It's basically a Motel 6 with a decent lobby. The room was horrible. I complained bitterly and frequently to Priceline (that rating Hacienda as a 3 star is fraud, at least if Hilton or Crowne Plaza are in the same category) and ultimately was refunded the money (after staying there!). I asked if they had downgraded Hacienda, but Priceline would not answer, only to say they are reviewing it. Most recently in early March, I booked Sheraton Gateway at four star $85 but I tried again today and did not receive a winning bid. I may bump back down to 60 3 stars if Hacienda is off the list.
