  2. Bid 4* $100 Loop. Fail.

Bid 4* $100 Added North Michigan Ave. Won! The Westin Michigan Avenue

This is one of the largest conventions, Pack Expo and  during this time, which I go to every year. Usually I wait last minute for better bidding, but the past years have failed and ended up with junk hotels at very high prices. Booked early this time.

Regular Priceline price for The Westin Michigan Ave was $359 per night. Express deal 4* for North Michigan Ave was $127.

  3. Looking for 4* hotel Disneyland area for 09/05/13 - 09/08/13.

    I bid $90 for 4* Disneyland. Fail.

I bid $95 for 4* Disneyland. Added Irvine Spectrum-Laguna Hills (Free 4* rebid). Fail.

I bid $100 for 4* Disneyland. Irvine Spectrum-Laguna Hills. Added Anaheim Hills (Free 4* rebid). Fail.

Priceline 4* retail price for Disneyland was Hyatt Regency Orange County for $139.

Priceline Express Deal was 4* for Disneyland for $108, but has 10% PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal coupon "BigCity6" until 9/16/13. Used this to get 4* Hyatt Regency Orange County for $97.20. Win.

  5. $14 for Mid-Size (Budget Rent-A-Car), Dallas Love Field, Saturday Feb 11 - Sunday Feb 12. Failed at $14 Standard, then won $14 Mid-Size.

My usual bidding strategy is to check the priceline car rates for the brand name companies, and bid between 20%- 40% off, starting at Standard, and bidding down a level with the same price.

I won a bid for a Dallas hotel, and there is an offer for car rental at the bottom that is already cheaper than the regular rates. Those discounted rates were $16 for Economy, and $17 for Economy to Standard.

The priceline regular published rates were $18 Economy and Compact, $19 Midsize, and $18 Standard.

If I marked down $40 percent, that would be a bidding price of $11, but since the discounted one was already $16, I tried just a little lower. I rushed this one. Since I have a few more days to try, I should have tried $11 or $12, but I guess I just used $14.

  6. Lowest listed price for Economy on Priceline.com was $18

I usually start at 40% off, which was $11, but I just added another dollar to be safe.

    Premium @ $12 - Failed

    Full @ $12 - Failed

    Standard @ $12 - Failed

    Mid-Size @ $12 - Failed

    Compact @ $12 - Failed

    Economy @ $12 - SUCCESS!

Your Offer Price: $12.00 (per day)

    Total Rental Days: 2 days

    Subtotal: $24.00

    Taxes and Fees: $19.70

    Total Charges: $43.70

    Lowest Published Price: $69.51

Total Savings:* $25.81 (You saved 37%)

I went to check Priceline.com listed prices right after, and it jumped from $18 to $23 for the lowest price. Don't know what factors caused that.

  7. First Bid $59. Offered free rebid of $75.

Rejected this and used a free rebid zone of Aurora because there are no 4* hotels in the area.

Rebid bid $69 and was accepted and received Sheraton Denver Downtown.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $69.00

    Subtotal: $207.00

  9. For San Jose, most of the departing flights have 2 stops, and practically all the return flights are redeyes. I'm confused why there is no option to rebid with redeye for San Jose. American, United, and Delta are the lowest prices for San Jose.

I don't mind the redeye for the return flight, but I don't want redeye for the departing. SFO shows some redeye for the departing, so we would lose 1 day of vacation.

    Thanks.

  10. Having trouble and might just have to book it at retail price ~ $580 + $70tax = $650

Fly from Aug 09 - Aug 16, pretty expensive right now.

Rebid many many times using different city method...

Now, I have the option to do rebid with Red Eye for SFO, but the redeye time schedules for SFO are a little risky.

However, I noticed that all the retail flights for SJC are redeye, and those are the ones I want, but priceline isn't giving me the option to rebid with Redeye, only for SFO.

    Any advice?
