Bid in $65 for resort only for Scottsdale, rejected Increased to $70 and picked 4 stars also, rejected Added West PHX as a zone and $75 and won this hotel. I was a bit nervous when winning this bid as there are very mixed reviews of the hotel on TripAdvisor.com. The grounds are impeccable, however, the rooms could use a facelift. The internet needs a cable (not wireless, I know I am spoiled), the rooms are not bad, just need some improvement. I'm also used to Marriotts, Sheraton's, Hilton's, etc, so my standards are pretty high. I will say the room was big (I had one of the larger standard rooms with two double beds) and a king bed would have been preferred, however, that is a known risk using Priceline, so I can't gripe too much about that. One really nice part of the Priceline bid that is not obvious in the details is that it is inclusive of a $15 "resort" fee the hotel charges guests above the room rate. So that is a savings as well. Unfortunately that rate fee does not include the internet which was $10 per night. Overall I would give the hotel staff, grounds and lobby 4 stars, but the rooms themselves either 3 or 3.5 stars. Since most hotels in the area were going for $200 per night, I can't complain (even though I did above).
