  1. Having had a think about it, I'm happy to drop to 2.5*, the ideal areas are, CPS, ESB, MDW and Times Square.

I've seen similar suggestions of strategies to start low and add a zone and $5 to my bid everytime I rebid (and to use the links on here everytime!)

I might have a look about at what other winning bidders have bid on and got, I know it's by no means what I will get but gives me an idea

Thanks for all your help so far

  2. Generally an 'OK' hotel, easy to find and well located, internet cafe across the road and planty of fast food places within spitting distance.

Hotel itself is clean and staff are very friendly and helpful, got an upgrade to a very large room. Rooms and the hotel itself are a little dated but clean and no complaints from me. It's undergoing a refurb at the moment. Pool area is small but again clean and fine.

  3. Nice hotel but definately aimed at the people with money and young (!). I liked the decor and staff were friendly and nice, the manager incharge of the valet could maybe do with some 'people' skills but all other staff were nice.

Room was small but nice and very clean. Be warned mini-bar charges for everything. Location is excellent and the pool area is very very nice. Got a bargain of a price so can't complain.

  4. Very nice hotel in a nice location with good facilities, pool area is nice. Staff are very nice and helpfu, except for the concierge, the hotel doesn't come up on sat nav systems and neither does the toad which this is off, the concierge was less then useless and directed me to the OTHER end of the Pacific Coast Highway, about 10 minutes away by car!

In the end got a very helpful member of staff (Ben) who knew exactly where I was and got me there no problem, checkin-in staff made sure my room was ready and pre-checked me in as well as upgrading me to a bigger room free of charge!

Generally very good experience just problem with finding it. Oh and in response to the hunch, nothing of the sort for me, the free upgrade shows that!
