Just to let you know - this morning I got the Grand Hyatt for 162 dollars for 6-9 May.
Good luck
OK _ Things are looking up again! I have a bed.
Thanks to the suggestion above - this is what I did this morning (I upped the suggested price a bit)
For 6-9 May
Selected 4* MTW...
Bid $140, rejected added re-bid zone1...UES
Bid $150, rejected added re-bid zone2...UWS
Bid $160, rejected
Selected 4* MTE...
Bid $140 - ......................................and then they gave me the chance to up the price by 22 dollars - which I did and got the Grand Hyatt - 3 nights 162 dollars per night - not so bad
And then------as luck would have it - they asked if I would like to extend my stay to the 12th at the same price - I said yes------but then they came back and said no room at the Inn for that price and they kindly offered it to me for 322 dollars, which I swiftly turned down.
Went back into the site then and started bidding
Selected 4* MTE...
Bid $140, rejected added re-bid zone1...UES
Bid $150, rejected added re-bid zone2...UWS
Bid $160, rejected
So, I would be very obliged if I could have some strategy to get the Hyatt again for 9-13 for circa 200 bucks.
I will book the Beekman for these dates as back up.
Thanks to all here for helping me find a bed!
Help - Help!
I tried out the strategy given - no luck - also tried splitting the stay no luck...
Any other tips?
Also, the Beekman has not worked out - I am homeless and leaving on Saturday!!!
Any help would be appreciated. :)
Thanks - I'll give it a shot today.

By the way - I've booked the Beekman as backup.
Thanks
The two rebid zones are UES and UWS.
If I do split my stay - perhaps you could tell me from a financial perspective which would be best. By the way I'm now arriving on May 6th and leaving on the 14th - so 8 nights accomodation needed.
so would 4 = 4 be the best split or just split the weekend out?
many thanks to all the helpful people here.

Anything around 200 dollars would be fine as long as its a 4 star in a decent area - and I don't have to move.
Any strategy suggestions for this type of price?
Thanks
Just trying to bump this up -
The priceline.co.uk site runs through priceline.com for bidding - so I would be obliged to receive a strategy for the aforementioned dates.
Go raibh maith agat.
Hello there - I'm new to bidding and need some help.
I will have to bid through priceline.co.uk as I live in Europe. I would like a nice hotel in NYC from May 7th to 14th inc. 4*/5* if possible - for around 200 dollars per night - if possible.
Perhaps you could give me some help.
Many thanks

I have stayed around St. Stephens green a few times recently for under 140 in the Conrad hotel. It's 5 stars and is the opposite end of the Green to the Shelbourne.
