  1. Having been a frequent user of the intercontinental hotel groups I was pleased after I realized they are part of the group.

The hotel was very nice for the value I paid. Rooms were large, had HS internet (not wireless, but they lent me a cord) single Queen bed, a small kitchenette, and a clean bathroom. But this hotel offers a buffet breakfast, which put this stay over the top. Now it is a buffet not a continental, but this was not a grand buffet. They had omelette's with nacho style cheese, cooked sausage, waffles, pastries selection of drinks, fruit bar, cereal, and the like. I was impressed to get a warm breakfast. Overall the hotel looks new and was exceptionally clean, and will look to stay here again. I did not use the phone systems as I have cell service, but the couch was comfortable and they had cable TV, but their laminated channel guide did not match there TV lineup.

Above all for the price I would highly recommend this property if you should need to stay here in Oakbrook Terrace.

    Oakbrook 2.5 Star $42, Jan 28-30, declined

    OakBrook & Bolinbrook, 2.5 Star, $48 Accepted

Found New hotel not on the 2.5 Star list

    Staybridge Suites Oakbrook Terrrace

    Oakbrook - Downer's Grove

    200 Royce Blvd

    Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois 60181

    630-953-9393

    Amenities List:

Fax, TV w/ Star, Iron, Hairdryer, Phone w/ Mail, and 24hr Bell.

  3. Well I bit the bullet and did the 2.5* (Hotwire) thinking it was the La Quinta.

However it was not; it is the:

    Homestead Chicago Oakbrook

    2701 Technology Drive

    Lombard, Illinois 60148

    (630) 928-0202

Still one of my choices, and is only a mile walk to my seminar and the weather is non-rainy all week. They do charge an additional $5 for Internet for the entire stay.

I guess we need to update the Homestead to a 2.5*

I think that would leave the Holiday Inn Express the 2* at 31-32 a night. Which would have been a 2.5 mile walk...

Should I post this in Hotwire as well? Or are you just going to move it. I would be happy to do a review of my stay.

  4. Well, It seems like I could get a decent hotel on priceline for Oakbrook for $50 incl. tax. ~$300 for the week.

I would be willing to use either priceline or hotwire, I would prefer to stay in oakbrook specifically to avoid renting a car.

Really I just want to get the cheapest price for a bed for the week, in Oakbrook, so I can be within a mile to a mile and a half walk to the seminar for the week. I suppose if I spent a little more it is likely someone else is staying the hotel I could get a ride with.

I will check out the subway routes maybe that would open it up some more, I could head east so I am going opposite of traffic in the morning/evening.

  5. I am looking for a hotel in Oakbrook for a seminar all week long. I wont have a car (Hopefully) and I am looking to stay as cheap as possible, My fiancee will not be with me so as long as it has a bed and clean sheets, I will be happy.

The following Hotels are the closets for walking to my seminar (not in a hotel)

    Holiday Inn

    Court Yard by Marriott

    Staybridge Suites

La Quinta (Roughly translated - "Next to Denny's" - joke, but they do seemed be frequently next to Denny's rest.)

Again, just looking for a cheap place to stay, any suggestions.

  6. What should I expect.

The Holiday Inn Website lists a room for $166/night on their website. They show availability.

The Double Tree Shows Availability and Net rates of $138/night

The Hilton shows availability and $188 a night.

I have enough points with holiday inn for one night free, so I would pay for one night at 166, the other free so it would cost me (not considering the free night a costs) 83/night.

Can I get the hotels cheaper than this and be on the waterfront? They all say waterfront.

Looking to Stay 4/1-4/3. Sat and Sun. nights.

Reverse EasyClickTravel says $81 a night for Holiday Inn, and $88 a night for Hilton.

  7. My fiancee and I are in Orlando for a tradeshow and would like to go to the beach for 4/1-4/3. I have been to Cocoa beach before and know what to expect (although I was in the Navy in the late 90's).

We are looking for suggestions as where to stay. Ideally away from spring break crowds (if it is not over, or if possible).

We have a car rental. Looking for some romance and just a relaxing time. Water temps are fairly the same, SCUBA would be nice but not critical.

Not sure what to look for and do. Ideally looking to spend around $75 (3 or 4 *s), and probably would lean towards getting a better hotel room for the money, maybe beach side.

Have been thinking of Cocoa Beach, and Clearwater Beach, possibly going south to Sarasota upon a recommendation.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
