  1. If you win this hotel on hotwire, you will be sorry. It is the worst room in the hotel. They have 3 buildings, they put you in the worst. It is a Xtra long double bed, in a tiny room. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the elevator, you enter the room, you will see an eight foot wide room, with the bed and small nightstand to the left, and a really bad sleeper loveseat that is located under the side window. there is a 27" flat screen tv, but the channels only display 17"'s. Very noisy, right on the street, elevator is next to TV. The other rooms in the hotel are really nice. The parking is bad, and they only take care of the customers that pay their full price. Buyer Beware!

  2. Oceanfront, Smoke free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry facility, Golf Nearby. and Children Activity Program.

7/25/2010 to 7/30/2010 for $89 per night (Myrtle Beach area hotel)

Figured it out myself. Its the Palmetto Shores Oceanfront. Can book directly with them for $99 per night. Not the nicest in town, but it is Oceanfront.

  3. first tried $40, in historic area, then $45 in outlet center. both turned down. had my wife try this time as 2 1/2*, for $60, turned down, then added 2*, for $62, turned down again. then added outlet center, for $65, and finally! a winner. Got the Springfield Suites, by Marriott, in the Outlet center. It is rated as 2*. A little more, then I thought, but happy with results, of my retries.

  4. I was looking for a nice hotel, for my 22 year old daughter and her fiance' for 5/6/07. After checking recent activities on this web site, and checking BetterChecker, I realized that this room was going to cost me about $100.00 for a 3*. Started my bidding at $80.00 and won. Oh well. I'm happy, just hate winning with first bid. :) going rate for this hotel, was at $249.00 for this evening. Of course, I started this process of bidding with Savings Barn. Thanks

  5. My rooms have been getting better by the years. When I first started using priceline, I always got the worst room. Small, dingy, no view (Wyndam in Baltimore) but have gotten better. in Washington DC, Capitol Hilton, got nice room, right next to elevator. nice but noisy. But since then, and with the help of this sight I realized you are aloud to ask for room preference. Attitude is A#1 when requesting rooms, and don't act like you got a deal thru priceline, act like a customer that just booked a hotel room and good luck!

  6. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this. I recently won a 2 night stay in NY at the Sheraton Manhatten for 8/30 and 8/31. I get my e-mail from Priceline, says my check in time is 4pm on the 30th and check out time is 11am on the 1st. all ok except the hotels web site says check in time is 3pm and check out times are 12pm. Is this Pricelines error, or our penalty for using Priceline?

  7. just tried again

    4* or Resort South beach

bid $65 rejected rebid zone 1

bid $70 rejected rebid zone 2

bid $75 rejected rebid zone 3

bid $80 rejected rebid zone 4

bid $85 rejected rebid zone 5

    bid $90 rejected closed browser

really don't want a 3*, unless you know of a 3* area of Miami Beach that doesn't include a dump. (aka Holiday Inn, miami beach 3*) No thanks.

can only go up to $100.00 plus taxes and fees though.

Any ideas that may help are welcome.

  8. Well, can still use help, thought I'd give it a try, but no luck yet. Here is how it worked so far.

    Selected Resort- South Beach

    Bid $65.00 rejected added 4*

    bid $65.00 rejected

Back to resort only- added miami beach

bid $70.00 rejected- added north miami

bid $75.00 rejected- added key biscayne

    bid $80.00 rejected

    Closed browser

came back added one more zone

    bid $85.00 rejected.

Done for now! Like I stated in last post, want resort, or 4* in either south beach or miami beach. will work later, but would appreciate any help here. thanks, Ken

  9. I'll answer my own questions. 1st there is another 3 star Hotel in Jersey City, although PATH very close as well. Hotwire and Priceline do show different star ratings from time to time, and from city to city. this is the same hotel in question. I would recommend using priceline for the date in question (8/29/206) seeing that someone elso just bid on a 3* in Jersey City for $75 and got the Hyatt. Any more questions, just ask.

  10. My question is, on hotwire, they are showing a 4* in Hoboken, for $110 on 8/29/06 on your hotwire list, the only 4* hotel is the Hyatt. When I went to Priceline, they don't show a 4*, is it listed as a 3*? and if so, how many other 3* hotels are there in Jersey City? Will pay the $110 for the Hyatt, if there is more 3*'s listed, because I need to stay at the Hyatt, only for the convenience of the PATH, which I understand takes you right over to WTC site.

Advice looking for: take the $110.00 or try priceline for $90.00

any money saved would be great.
