  2. Hello,

I am in need of some help. I am trying to get a hotel in The Charleston Downtown area through priceline. I need two rooms as another couple is going with us. I know all about the rebid process. I have been trying for over a month and this is my result.

    4* up to $105 rejected

    3.5* up to $105 rejected

    3* up to $105 rejected

    2.5* up to $85 rejected

We would like to get the highest star rating possible. I get nervous arounf the 2.5* level. The problem is our friends want to spend under or around $100. What do you suggest? Is is still to early to give up? Could the problem be the request for two rooms? Is something happening this weekend? Please give any advice or strategy you can.

    Thanks,

    Marcus

  3. I am trying to book a trip for my Mom and 9 friends. I searched Hotwire and found what seems like a great deal. The Dates are Checkin on May 23 and check out May 25. 5 rooms with 2 people per room. I Found $129 per night with the following amenities.

    Fitness Center

    Restaurant

    Business Center

    High Speed Internet

    Tennis Nearby

From the looks of it this would be either the Grand Hyatt or The Barclay. Could anyone else she some light on this deal? Is it a good deal for this time?

    Thanks for your help

  4. I am looking for a one night stay in NYC on 7/23/08. We would like a 4*. Our max bid would be $250, but we would like to start low to see what we can get. We do understand the rebid process and would be fine with the usual zones rec. on this site. We would also be interested in 5* properties if that would be a possibility. What should our max bid be for a 5*? Please advise on a strategy.

    Thanks

  5. We are looking for a 4* for one night July 23rd 2008. We are fine with the normal MTE, MTW, UM-CPS, TIMES SQUARE. Our max bid for a 4* is $250, but we want to start low as it is still a few months away. Please help with a strategy. Also, what are the chances of ever getting a 5*. We would be willing to increase if we could get one. Thanks for your help and yes we understand the rebid zone process.

Do you think these prices are high for the time of year. Should I try priceline first. I know it is still far away.

    Thanks for your help

  7. I entered priceline through the link at savingsbarn.com and started the above strategy. I bid up to $80 and was rejected. I closed the browser and as I am typing this i realized i did not enter again through savingsbarn, but through priceline directly. But my next bid of $85 was accepted for two rooms at the 3* Hyatt Regency Historic District. The rate on the hotel website is $294. This is an awesome deal. Thanks for all of your help.
