I've been able to decline resort fees at Palazzo 3 different trips; however, i wasn't booked through priceline, but I'm sure they'll do it. Palazzo seems the best at letting go of the vice grip on our nuts.

I've tried at a few other hotels and was unable to do this.

EDC is a pretty big weekend in Las vegas from 6/21-6/23. Most of the hotels are triple the price. Would it be possible to merge one thread for this particular weekend to see what people are getting?

So far, the express deals for 5 stars seem like the following:

Trump - $237 (no casino)

Venetian/Palazzo/Encore/Wynn - $323 (not sure which hotel, it's 8.0 guest favorite)

Aria - $237 (8.0 guest favorite)

Have yet to try name your own price yet.

I did something similar to this but for this coming weekend. I couldn't get a 4 star for $145. You might be able to try a 3.5 star though. The reason mine got shut down though was for St. Patty's Day weekend. You might have a really hard time your weekend because of Easter. It seems that most people get The Roosevelt for 4 star from the other threads I read. The 3 star reviews are just as good as that hotel on Tripadvisor.

I got The Roosevelt for Sunday, $87. After taxes and fees $112.98. I checked the hotel website and after taxes it's 185.95, so I think I got a decent deal.

My bidding strategy was the following, all 4 star bids.

Bid 1: MTE $80 Rejected

Bid 2: MTE and MTW $85 Rejected

Bid 3: MTE, MTW, TS $86 Rejected

Bid 4: MTE, MTW, TS, CPS $87 Accepted

I decided to use my reward points for Friday and Saturday (3/15, 3/16) at the Hyatt (only 7 min walk it looks like) due to not having any luck on bids for all three nights. I didn't really want to use my points for a hotel (i tend to save them for airline) but at the same time didn't want to break the bank this trip. My budget for hotels this trip was to stay under $450.

My initial bidding strategy I used the last two days that failed miserably (i probably didn't do this right) was the following, for 3/15-3/18, all 4 star bids:

Bid 1: MTE $130 Rejected

Bid 2: MTE/MTW $135 Rejected

Bid 3: MTE/MTW, TS $140 Rejected

Bid 4: MTE, MTW, TS, ESP $142 Rejected

Bid 5: MTE, MTW, TS, ESP, CPS $144 Rejected

Bid 6: MTE, MTW, TS, ESP, CPS, HK $145 Rejected

I also bid on 3-3.5 star with the same zones as above and didn't win for a 3 night stay. I started with $100 and my final rejection was $125.

I probably could have gotten the rate slightly lower for Sunday if I had waited Monday or Tuesday, but being St. Patty's Day weekend I didn't want to risk there not being any hotels so booked tonight.

Thanks for the advice. It must be because of St. Patty's Day weekend. I know there is a big parade somewhere. I've tried all the zones you mentioned plus SoHo. Maybe I'll just have to wait until after the weekend and prices will drop - seems to be the case a lot of times. Otherwise I may have to settle for a 3-3.5 star which is fine.

Anyone know a good zone to target for a 3-3.5? I'll try the 4 stars again late Sunday evening.

My budget is hopefully under $150 per night (closer to $115 would be nice). I can't bid due to 24 hour rule still, but failed with bids up to $140. It's crazy, i see people getting great hotels like the Westin and Hilton on here for under $120 just a week before my trip. Maybe because it's St. Patty's Day or I'm bidding on a weekend and prices are up?

The trip is somewhat of a party trip, so I don't need to stay near Time Square but would like to. If there are any other areas that might be clean, fun that's close to attractions please let me know. I've only been to NYC once. Is the Meatpacking and Hells Kitchen a good place to stay? I hear thats where the party scene and good food is. I'll probably like to hit the park during the day and some small tourist stuff if there's time, but mainly party and eat some good food :)

I'm sorta familiar with bidding strategies, just not for New York. I use it for Vegas all the time and get great deals, I'm just not having luck with NYC. Thanks in advance. I'll bump post if I get something noteworthy.

Alternatively, I can do a 3-3.5 (under $125 hopefully) star if it's a reputable chain like Holiday Inn as long as it's in a good area.
