Apologies for the late posting - bid this about a week and a half ago and stayed last weekend. Definitely wouldn't agree with the 4* rating for this hotel, but it was a good stay.

Spent some time attempting to bid downtown Toronto zones with no luck (4*, up to $125). Researched hotwire rates and thought for sure that the property listed might be the Radisson Plaza Harbourfront Admiral which would have been an ideal location. Obviously willing to take the chance and ended up with the DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Toronto. This appears to be a new listing not on the hotel list.

I've been bidding these dates consistently up to $140/$150 since December with no luck. Ideally I wanted a location further uptown, but this will suit us just fine. I was rejected at $170 for Midtown East, Midtown West, Times Square, Financial District, and Madison Square Garden zones. Accepted at $175 (which was my limit) when I added a free rebid. As always, thanks to all the posters on this site, and to the moderators for their willingness to help others. I used the PRICELINE link on this site for this purchase. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, another posting from a few days ago listed the Crowne Plaza as a 3.5*. The hotel list also lists this hotel as a 3.5* (and a post from Sept. 2008) lists it as a 3*. I assume they've upgraded it to a 4 star? My bid was definitely for a 4 star...

Haven't stayed in this hotel, but it's pretty central to everything we'll be doing in the city... Rates on the hotel website for these nights are $288.50
Thanks as always to all the contributors to this board!
I had been bidding this one for a couple weeks and finally got it. Hotwire has (likely) shown this hotel at $139 for the past few weeks and it dropped to $89. Rates on the hotel website have remained the same (regular room rate of $155). Rejected at $50, accepted at $60. This hotel seems to get bad reviews, but I've stayed there several times and quite like it! Haven't had a bad experience. We just need a bed to sleep in for an early flight...

This hotel seems like a fairly central area to our destinations, so we decided to bid for another night.

I've been bidding for a 4* on this one for weeks and haven't been able to secure it.
Bid 4* up to $150 for the downtown zone and was rejected.
Dropped to a 3* (started a new bid) and tried the San Diego Coastal zone up to $125 and was rejected
Added the downtown zone (3*) and dropped to $110 - accepted on first offer. Rates on the hotel website are $199 (and hotwire seems to have the property for $159)
It looks like priceline has dropped this hotel to a 3* (You might want to make the change in your priceline hotel list as it currently lists it at 4*)
We're staying 4 nights in San Diego and ended up splitting my bid each night for 4 separate hotels.

After being rejected up to $140 bidding (4*) on downtown San Diego, I broadened my search. I can't exactly recall my exact bidding, but used La Jolla, San Diego Coastal and Escondido zones. (2.5* and 3*). Ended up with Lake San Marcos - Escondido, $80.00 Rate on the hotel website is $129. From the reviews, it looks like the only thing going for this property is that it has free parking. I'm positive I could have gotten this one cheaper, but messed up my bidding strategy. (After dozens of bids day after day for this trip, it's easy to do!) Ah well...

Thanks to all for the posts!
(**I should also note that I bid for and received this hotel a few days ago - July 11)

Accepted - Manchester Grand Hyatt. The lowest rate on the hotel website is $299. The reviews of this hotel are all pretty good, so I'm excited about staying here.

I've been bidding on this trip since early June and haven't had any luck. In checking a lot of hotel websites, the rates are really high for my travel dates in San Diego (Aug. 1-5, 2008). I've also noticed that Hotwire prices seem to be going up by the day for these dates. We're flexible with our locations (although would prefer to be downtown/gaslamp/convention center area), and I've decided to break up my bidding for individual nights. I was hoping to get the Omni for the entire stay, but it doesn't look like it will be possible. Posted rates on the website for this hotel and these dates is:
Aug. 1 - $233.10 (this is the night I secured)
Aug. 2 - SOLD OUT
Aug. 3 - SOLD OUT
Aug. 4 - $349.00
I started bidding at $90 and increased in increments of $10 not thinking that I would get anything that low after bidding up to $140 in the past few weeks. Rejected at $100, accepted at $110. I was really excited when Priceline gave me the option of extending my stay for the same rate. I chose this option and it allowed me to stay one extra night. When I went through with this however, it came back that they were "unable to process my request". I knew it was too good to be true... :)
Stayed at the Omni last year and had a really great experience...
