I wound up missing this one. I think we are ideally looking for a place in the Mayfair-Picadilly-Soho area and hoping to find someplace that is a little unique and will potentially have the option to request two beds a room (a somewhat diverse request I know), although we would probably ditch the unique requirement for a sweet deal on a really nice hotel

There appears to be a two five stars in that area, one for 169 a night and one for 175 a night. I think the $169 may be the Metropolitan (correct me if I am wrong) which wont work because they only have one big bed  Any idea what the $175 is? It's listed as

Seems to me that could be a number of things on the bidding list.

Another option would be the 4 stars in the same area. There are 4 of them from 126-170. Appreciate any help in confirming my id's or lack there of.

I am not sure we have set a maximum budget. Looking for the nicest hotel we can get for the cheapest price in someplace that is near all the sights in London (so trying to avoid the City, south of the Thames, etc). Would prefer to walk when possible over taking the tube.

Yes. #2 was the Sheraton Bourbon St. 2 rooms for three nights at 96 a night.

Looking on Hotwire from December 12-13th and I see a South Beach, Oceanfront Collins area hotel with 4 start for 151 a night with a 100% rating and these amenities

I just looked at this again on Hotwire, using the links above, and after I click on the 5 star in Mayfair/Soho, it gives me a hint saying "Book soon! The last person got the Sofitel St James London." I have never seen this before on Hotwire.

Is this "hint" usually correct?

Looks similiar to the one I am looking at in the bottom half of this Hotwire London hotel thread. What dates are you looking at.

If so I think it might be the Waldorf but not 100% sure.

Looks like Waldorf is 4 out of 5 on Tripadvisor and Le Meridien is a 3.5 out of 5 so thinking it is Waldorf but appreciate a second set of eyes.
