  1. In bidding on a 5* hotel in Waikiki beach area, the following notice was seen on the page prior to submitting.

    "If priceline accepts your price, priceline will book your reservation in a property with an equal or higher star level than you requested. Please note it is possible that the hotel you are booked in could be a Resort, which will meet or exceed the minimum qualifications of the star level you initially requested."

    Has anyone opted for a 5* property and been "upgraded" to a resort on Priceline?

  3. Does Hotwire allow you to add on extra days to your hot deal the way that Priceline does? If so, how many days is allowed? Priceline sometimes allows you to add on extra days to the beginning or end of your stay, for the same special price. Below is an example of Priceline's terms:

    It's easy to Extend Your Stay. Just choose additional check-in or check-out dates below and we'll search the hotel you were originally booked in for the additional nights.

    Please review the following when Adding Nights:

    * Availability is not guaranteed.

    * Nights will be added to all rooms on a multiple-room request.

    * Nights can be added either to the beginning or the end of your original request, not both.

    * Total amount of nights added can be up to the number of nights on your original request.

    * The total number of added nights combined with the original number of nights cannot exceed 21 nights.

    * You may add nights to this request one time.

    * The option to Add Nights is only available up until 11am on the date of check-out.

    * In rare cases the hotel may require you to move rooms.

    * Your new Add Nights request will be booked as a separate request. Your original reservation remains unchanged.
