Started my PRICELINE bid at 41 for 2.5* for Waco; expanded to Waco South and increased bid to 50, then expanded to Bellmead and increased bid to 60 and won at Fairfield Inn. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal Price for Waco South for 2.5* was quoted at $69; normal price for Fairfield Inn was $199.
Started bid at $48 (rejected) on a 2 1/2 star. Without changing anything Priceline told me to increase to $58. I did. Accepted for this 3 star Holiday Inn.
I used the PRICELINE links provided. Love this site.
Thanks.

I was originally trying to get a higher star and stay further South (Area: Colorado Springs South and Colorado Springs Central). Tried $35 for 4 Star and then rebid at 3.5 Star and rebid & 3 Star on 4/26/10, but rejected. Tried same combination for $40 on 4/28/10 and then same for 4/30/10 at $45.
I then tried $35 for a 3* and 2 1/2* in Co Springs North and was rejected. But was accepted at $35 when I changed to a 2*.
Okay, this took a while.
DESTINATION: Denver. I was really hoping for a SUV or CONVERTIBLE and have spent the last week trying to get it. I only need the car for 06/8 (Sunday) to 06/12 (Thursday) and was bidding based on those dates.

At this point I began to think I would just go the non-PRICELINE route and use a coupon.
THEN, I decided to change the rental period from 4 days to 7 days thinking that perhaps the weekly rental rates are set lower than the daily rates.
I tried a Standard for $21 for 1 week and was rejected.
I then tried a SUV for $27 for 1 week and was ACCEPTED. This was about the same rate as going with a $46 daily rate for 4 days. Although, it is with Alamo, so there is a chance I might get stuck with a Kia Sportage.
7 days $189
Taxes $77.80
Total $266.80
I will be returning the car after 4 days.
I'm happy with the car, though I would have preferred a Convertible and I should have tried the weekly rate for the Convertible 1st for like $25.
Nevertheless, it's a done deal. :) Living with it. Wish I would have gotten smarter sooner.
TRAVEL DATES 06/12/08 - 06/18/08
Chicago O'Hare
I was having a little trouble so I decided to go up in price a couple of dollars and got a midsize with Avis for $20/day.
The following were rejected:
Standard $17
Convertible $24
Total Price $155.04
6 days at $120
Taxes $35.04
On Avis.com it is going for $263.11. 40% savings.
That works.
I tried $25 for a convertible, then tried $18 for a Standard. Both were rejected. Will try again in a couple of days.
I'm wondering if my dates are too far out. Would that matter?

Second Bid: $33 (Add Tech Center)
Accepted. Originally bid on a 2 1/2 star hotel and won a 3 Star. Best rate I saw for this hotel was $73.
