Okay, this took a while. DESTINATION: Denver. I was really hoping for a SUV or CONVERTIBLE and have spent the last week trying to get it. I only need the car for 06/8 (Sunday) to 06/12 (Thursday) and was bidding based on those dates. CONVERTIBLE - REJECTS $24 - Rejected 05/19 $30 - Rejected 05/22 $33 - Rejected 05/23 $35 - Rejected 05/24 $40 - Rejected 05/28 $46 - Rejected 05/29 STANDARD $18 - Rejected 05/19 $24 - Rejected 05/24 $28 - Rejected 05/28 $30 - Rejected 05/29 SUV $25 - Rejected 05/24 $29 - Rejected 05/26 $35 - Rejected 05/28 $42 - Rejected 05/29 At this point I began to think I would just go the non-PRICELINE route and use a coupon. THEN, I decided to change the rental period from 4 days to 7 days thinking that perhaps the weekly rental rates are set lower than the daily rates. I tried a Standard for $21 for 1 week and was rejected. I then tried a SUV for $27 for 1 week and was ACCEPTED. This was about the same rate as going with a $46 daily rate for 4 days. Although, it is with Alamo, so there is a chance I might get stuck with a Kia Sportage. 7 days $189 Taxes $77.80 Total $266.80 I will be returning the car after 4 days. I'm happy with the car, though I would have preferred a Convertible and I should have tried the weekly rate for the Convertible 1st for like $25. Nevertheless, it's a done deal. :) Living with it. Wish I would have gotten smarter sooner.
