Geminiwanderlust
I have been bidding for the past few weeks on priceline and everything I try gets getting rejected. I am looking for a hotel in the chelsea area at around 150 per night--hoping for at least three stars. Is this even possible? I have succeeded with a lower bid than this in the past--however I do realize october is prime season. Should I give up and up my bid? Link to comment
AaronJB
Is Chelsea the only acceptable area? $150 is going to be difficult in October given how expensive the period usually is. but I think if you are flexible in terms of area, you can get somewhat close: HOTWIRE has a 4* in the Theater District-Midtown West area w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower for $170. The Yotel Times Square has been seen with this amenity set previously. Would this option be of any interest? If Chelsea is the only acceptable area, you're probably looking at closer to $200 ($180-185+, depending on star level.) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thereuare
I will also add to the above this 2.5* Empire State Building zone hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $167/nite with: Business Center Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> my guess for this property would be the Hotel Wolcott, which assuming correct, would be about a block from the edge of the Chelsea zone (not sure if you prefer this for proximity to your desired zone OR the higher star rating above) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help. Geminiwanderlust
I have previously posted about this trip--date 10/13-10/17. I am currently seeing a 3.5 star hotel in chelsea on PRICELINE EXPRESS for 189 per night. 7.0 rating. Any ideas what hotel this could be? or any suggestions for a hotel in this price range and are for those dates? Link to comment

thereuare
Is this the 3.5* Chelsea hotel you're seeing with: Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> if so, best guess for this one would be the Holiday Inn NYC - Manhattan 6th Ave Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Geminiwanderlust
You were correct. It was the Holiday Inn. I decided to bid instead of taking the express deal and was accepted at 185...after being denied at 182. Link to comment
