rach1331
Hello, My husband and I are looking to bar hop in the Union Square - East Village area on 8/2-8/4. We need a hotel for 2 nights at least 3*. We are looking to spend as little as possible but at least under $200 a night (when looking on my own many hotels were $200 or more but I know bidding can do better!). Any advice on how to bid to get the best deal? Thanks, Rachael Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. Is this the only zone that would be acceptable (would any of the neighboring zones be okay?) You may be able to get a 4* towards the top of your budget/a bit over; are you looking for the most reasonable option (the cheapest 3*) or would you be interested in pushing more towards your max for a 4* with more amenities? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. rach1331
I am more interested in getting the most reasonable 3* as we won't be spending much time in the room. After looking at the map again, we are also open to West Village or Chelsea. Link to comment
AaronJB
You can bid on Union Square-East Village and Chelsea, but I think you may be a little more likely to have luck in Chelsea given that there's more properties in that zone, including a 4* on HOTWIRE for $200 (you may see a slightly different price) in Chelsea w/Boutique, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. This is a possible match for the Paul, which is a very nice, newer property. The difference that I'm seeing between 3* and 4* rates is fairly minimal; I'd start at $170 for a 4* in these zones and work higher by $5's using re-bidding (you can see instructions on re-bidding by clicking this link.) Please ask us any questions before starting the bidding process, as reservations are non-refundable.
