Hi There,

I need some help determine what to use for booking our stay in Kauai this November.  The dates we are looking at are either 11/24-12/4 or 11/24-12/5.

Our goal is to stay as cheap as possible, yet at a beachfront location.  On Hotwire - the 2 spots that we are looking at are as follows:

1. Poipu area condo (3 stars) --- 196 $86 per night --- 80% recommended (Tripadvisor 4/5 1500-2000 reviews)

  • (Book soon! The last person got the Aston at Poipu Kai)
  • Free Internet
  • Free Parking
  • 1-bedroom suite
  • Beachfront Hotel
  • Children's activities
  • Daily Housekeeping
  • Full Kitchen
  • Restaurant(s)
  • Self Service Laundry

2. Lihue - Kaapa area hotel (3.5 stars) --- 141 $104 per night --- 100% recommended (Tripadvisor 4.5/5 500-1000 reviews)

  • (No Book Soon message)
  • Free Internet
  • Free Parking
  • Beachfront Hotel
  • Fitness Center
  • Pool(s)
  • Resort
  • Restaurant(s)
  • Self-service laundry

I have used hotwire before -- so I am familiar with the service, however I have never used priceline.  Our biggest concern is getting a resort that is not on the beach.  We don't mind at all not having an ocean view, but being able to walk to the beach from the resort is a big deal for us.  Could I get much more savings for priceline name-your-price to be worth the risk?  There are also a few resorts booking for just under $100 per night thru just regular booking.

All-in-all I'm just looking for some advice on cheap booking options in Kauai.  I'd appreciate input or help from anyone.  Where can I find the best deal?

Thanks.

Michael

Welcome to BetterBidding!

FYI, for the offers above, note that there are likely more amenities then what you have posted as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool.

You will need to search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to each of these listings to ensure you're seeing the complete amenity set for each.

Generally speaking bidding on PRICELINE is usually the least expensive way to book a hotel, but it's also the most 'unknown', so if there are certain factors that you would like in a property (ie- knowing that the hotel is beachfront (or at least walkable to the beach), or free internet, or free breakfast, etc.etc) the PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE are usually your next best options.

You can also use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, zoom in on the map, and look along the coastline near the beaches you would like to stay to see if there are any 'named' hotels that are within your budget and with close enough proximity to the beach.

What are the dates of your trip?  Are you ready to book a hotel for this trip at this point in time?

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Let us know your thoughts (and dates of your trip) and how you would like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
