renataufm
I am considering bidding for a 4* or 4.5* in waikiki and I see that if i select the are "heart of waikiki" I have the option of 4.5* hotels. Do you know which hotels these are likely to be? The Outriggers? Thank you!! Link to comment
thereuare
I don't know of any 4.5* hotels in this zone. Although rare, this could be one of the regions where there is not any 4.5* bidding and any successful bid at this star rating would be upgraded to a 5* hotel. I wouldn't necessarily use this as a strategy by bidding 4.5* in in hopes of winning a 5*, but i think it's possible that there are not really any 4.5* hotels in this zone at this point in time. If you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept, your desired star rating, and your maximum bid... we will advise accordingly. renataufm
How likely is the 3.5* from the bidding section of Priceline for Waikiki South for a stay on 8/10-8/12 to be the Hyatt Place? It has the pet and internet icons next to it. Thank you. Link to comment
thereuare
On the bidding side of PRICELINE there is no way to target, avoid, or take a guess as to the property you will receive beforehand. The amenities shown next to each star rating for the bidding side of their service are amenities that are offered at every hotel of that star rating in the zone... not a specific property that you would be bidding on. In fact, at this point of the bidding process PRICELINE hasn't even checked inventory for your dates. If you're looking for the absolute lowest price then bidding on PRICELINE is usually the best way to go... if you want to know a little more about the hotel you will end up (amenities offered, reviews, etc) and/or take a guess as to what you may receive then PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE are usually a better, although slightly more expensive, option. What is it that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip? (as there is often a wide gap between 4.5* hotels which you originally asked about and 3.5* properties) What is your expected budget for this stay? (per nite before fees/taxes) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
