Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Magnificent Mile - Gold Coast) The Drake Hotel

Unsuccessful 1st bid was $89

 

Only issue I know have is the following:

 

Usually I call and ask for a room with 2 beds and I am always accommodated.  Then we have one bed for us and one bed for the kids.  When I look at the Drake website I see the only 2 bed room they appear to have is 2 twins. 

 

Any advice is much appreciated

I am now traveling with the entire family and just not my wife and I.

 

Usually I call the hotel and request a room with 2 beds, but the Drake only appears to have single bed rooms OR 2 Twins.

This is a terrific deal for what is certainly one of the city's most classic hotels. At the top of the Michigan Ave area, the location also couldn't be any better. I'll recommend Hendrickx Bakery (http://hendrickxbakery.com/), which is about a block West.

 

The Drake does not have two doubles rooms, it does have two twins (a manager responding to a tripadvisor review called these "oversized twin beds".) It does - like the other Hilton classic properties in Chicago - have rooms with two queens and two bathrooms, but those are an upgrade.

 

I would call, explain the situation and ask if there are/what options are available. The hotel may charge an upgrade fee if they are able to offer larger rooms (such as the 2 queen/2 bathroom rooms) for your dates.
