Always_ski
How reliable is guest rating vs star rating? For example if I don't really care about amenities but extra cafe about cleanliness,... should I go with a 3stars with a rating of 8.0/10 instead of 4 and 4.5 stars? Detail: Apr 16-Apr 19 Anything south of central park (including around wall street is fair game, but a small preference closer to midtown) Max around 170 I even see on PRICELINE EXPRESS deals a 9/10 with 3 stars for 141. In the 4 stars car I see a lot of things around 140-150 range, I guess i could get a bit lower with NYOP? Tks! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! My suggestion would be to go for a combination of both star rating and user reviews. If you bid on PRICELINE you may likely get a lower slightly lower price than a PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE offer, but how do you then try to target some of the 'better' hotels/reviews? Any interest in any of the following: World Center hotel for $122/nite The Wall Street Inn for $141/nite Hotel Mela Times Square for $144/nite The Jewel Hotel for $145/nite Holiday Inn NYC - Lower East Side for $152/nite Cambria Hotel and Suites Times Square for $169/nite Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know if you want to move forward on any of the above and we'll take it from there (and if not, why not these hotels so that we have a better idea of what it is that you are looking for) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Always_ski
Is the Jewel "The Jewel facing Rockefeller Center"? I think Jewel (1st) and World Center hotel (2nd) are my two top choices. Link to comment
thereuare
There is more than one 4* hotel offered in this zone at $145/nite, so use this link for the 4* Rockefeller Center - Bryant Park hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for a hotel with Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center, Non Smoking and an 8+ user review rating ... best guess for this one would be The Jewel (yes, 'facing Rockefeller Center') Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. (or ideally the link above) Let us know how it goes or how we can be of further help. Always_ski
Unfortunately I got the confirmation for this trip a bit too late and it wasn't avalaible anymore. I used your PRICELINE link to re-do the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and got the World Center hotel for $122/nite. Seems like a good deal considering the good reviews it has. Thank you again. thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received a nice deal for this trip and are pleased with the results. Not too far from this hotel i recommend this place (it's a restaurant, not a slice shop): Adrienne's Pizzabar 54 Stone St, ... stick with the rectangular 'grandma' style pie which is what they are most well known for. Reasonably priced (by NYC standards) for the quality of ingredients, although drink prices are high, as they are throughout most of Manhattan. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay.
