joaomarques
Hi there, This is my first time here and bidding on Prriceline :) Could I get some help on scoring a winning bid on an upcoming trip to Amsterdam in December? I want a 5* hotel, on the most central area of Amsterdam, and I have a max budget of $100 to spend per night. Do you think it's feasible? How should I do it? Thanks in advance,JM Link to comment

joaomarques
Thanks! One double room! ... and please also read your messages (which will remove the red box at the top of the page and make the board easier to navigate)Sorry! Got it! Message received :) Link to comment
thereuare
At current rates I don't think you have a chance at a 5* in this zone... it will more than likely take substantially more. If you want to give it a try anyway, when bidding 5* in Amsterdam you have THIRTEEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 5* Central Station... Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100 Any questions feel free to ask. joaomarques
Well, you were right: I went through 13 rebidding zones, but no luck... I guess I'll have to choose another area / or choose a 4* hotel. Don't know what should be best... Link to comment
thereuare
At current prices a 4* hotel in this zone will still likely cost you in the $120-$140 range... a 3* in the $100-$120 area. The Canal Belt East zone is currently a bit more affordable, as you can likely get a 5* hotel there in the $120-145 area. If you need to stick within your budget but want a 5* hotel you can get something in the Apollolaan - RAI - Amstel Canal zone for under $100/nite.
