Siim
Hey Betterbidding! I'm once again looking for a good deal in US. This time in Vegas. We are a group of 8 staying in Vegas April 12-15. Four beds (two rooms) would be OK. Wouldn't like to go over 200 USD / per room / per night. I think we'd like to stay at a Strip Casino hotel to get the maximum Vegas experience. Free parking would also be nice. Should I go about it through Hotwire or some other sites? There's also some leeway with the price. So all the help would appreciated to make our stay in Vegas as great as possible. Thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
What would be your desired star rating? Unfortunately, rates are definitely on the high side for these dates and a 5* for $200 or less appears difficult/unlikely. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
thereuare
Are your dates firm/flexible? There is a Broadcasters convention taking place during your stay that is expecting 98K attendees (plus a separate convention with another 17K attendees)... expect high demand/high prices for these dates. Siim
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately my dates are firm but I'm not expecting 5* - the best solution for about this price would be ok enough. Didn't think I'd have to compete with 115K other people though... :) Link to comment
thereuare
Few issues/points to clarify in order to determine how to best proceed: Four beds (two rooms) would be OK.PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request (and in Las Vegas rooms with two beds often cost more than single room beds, so even if you are able to 'upgrade' to a room with two beds, there may be an extra fee to do so). If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, HOTWIRE would still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) I think we'd like to stay at a Strip Casino hotel to get the maximum Vegas experience. Free parking would also be nice. With PRICELINE there is no way to ensure the hotel has a casino since there are hotels in both zones that don't have casinos... parking is generally free in Las Vegas as all hotels i'm aware of have a self-parking garage. For your dates when searching for 2rooms/8adults i see what looks to be The Tropicana for $157/nite which may be your best bet based upon your needs. It's not as glamorous as the newer themed hotels, but it was recently remodeled and has a good Strip location. I'm also seeing what looks like Planet Hollywood for $216/nite which is a little more center strip and more 'flashy' than the Tropicana. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
