As advised I started my search from your quickquote boxes up above. Thanks so much for your assistance. Don't know if it will help others, but this has worked for me in the past...I've always stopped by a fancy grocery store [Whole Foods, etc.] before I get to the hotel. I buy a selection of pastries/snacks, along with about 5-6 Starbucks gift cards with $5-$7 on each of them. I hand these to the desk clerk when I sign in and tell them I appreciate what they do. Odds are they'll never see it coming. Later I'll broach the subject about an upgrade. It's worked 3 out of the last 4 Hotwire trips I've taken. Heck, Trivago and Hotels..com lists this same room for $187 a night. I'll gladly buy some eclairs and lattes for a chance at an upgrade. Link to comment
