kpet
I am trying to figure out which hotel this is on HOT.WIRE for $221/N. Amenities shown are: free Internet Restaurant Pet friendly Smoke free Fitness center Business center Self Serve Laundry Trip Advisor rates a 4.5/5 and 95% of Hot.wire guests recommend. Also wondering about a 4.5* property listed on PRICELINE.EXPRESS DEALS. Property is listed as North Michigan Avenue River North at $165/N save 25% Rating 8.0 Guest Favorite Amenities: Indoor or Outdoor Pool Pets Allowed Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center Bed Choice Available Any help identifying is greatly appreciated! AaronJB
The HOTWIRE 4.5 has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but my GUESS is that - given the 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating - it is possibly a new amenity set for either the Conrad or James. The 4.5* PRICELINE Express would be a possible match for the Omni or Intercontinental. I'd actually rather recommend going a different (and cheaper) route - there's a 4.5 on HOTWIRE in the Mag Mile N-Water Tower area for $152 (the price you see may differ slightly) w/:Free InternetBoutique HotelSmoke Free RoomsRestaurant(s)Internet accessThat would be a possible match for the Ivy - newer hotel and great location with only a few rooms per floor. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
kpet
Thanks for your input AaronJB! I decided to go back to PRICELINE.EXPRESS DEALS and put in for the 4.5* property that was originally listed for $165 when I first posted about it. The price had gone up $1, but the other available properties had also gone up, some by as much as $20, so figured I had better go ahead and do it. The Ivy does look like a nice property, but since we have friends staying at the Intercontinental were hoping for that. We got the Chicago Omni Hotel, which is just a couple of blocks from the Intercontinental, and still a good price for a 4.5* property. Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :) I actually quite like the Intercontinental and its rich, rather fascinating history, but I'd actually prefer the Omni if given the choice. Larger, suite rooms, better location and better chance at at least a decent view. There's a beautiful Argo Tea stand a few blocks away in the middle of Connors Park (corner of Wabash and Chestnut) - very lovely place to have an iced tea. I'd also recommend Eataly (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35805-d5600612-Reviews-Eataly-Chicago_Illinois.html), which is rather chaotic when it comes to trying to eat a meal, but a lot of fun to browse around. Eataly is sort of in-between both the IC and Omni. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. kpet
Thanks AaronJB for your recommendations on the Argo Tea Stand and Eataly! We will definitely check both out! I'm glad to know that you prefer the Omni. I have never stayed there but have stayed at the Intercontinental several times. Looking forward to our trip in the next couple of weeks! Link to comment
