thereuare
Note that you can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates. The star ratings are not always the same thru the 'opaque' and 'retail' sides of HOTWIRE's service, so it's entirely possible that the rating has changed since it was last reported to the board, but there is no way to know if this has happened until it's reported to the board as such. Are you currently seeing a 2.5* or 3* hotel offered on HOTWIRE when searching for your dates? If so, do the amenities shown match previous reports for the Best Western Chocolate Lake? The Best Western is currently 3* rated on PRICELINE.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. SillyTrix
Hello,I understand that I cannot get a guaranteed hotel. However, on Hotwire, 3 different hotels pop up in the Bedford/Chocolate Lake area. Unfortunately, I can't even figure out which other hotels are there but here are the info:3* for $88/night: still gathering reviews for this propertyAmenities: smoke free room, high speed internet, fitness center, business centre, restaurant, laundry (self-service)2.5* for 104/night: still gathering reviews for this propertyAmenities: complimentary breakfast, high speed internet2* for 87/night: recommended by 25% of Hotwire customersAmenities: complimentary breakfast, high speed internetI'm just wondering if I should just not try Hotwire seeing how I don't know which one may be the Best Western, and I can't even figure out what hotels are available in that area. Thanks for your help. AaronJB
No hotels in this zone have been reported to the board - this zone does *appear* (I'm not very familiar with the area) to have been split off from the Halifax zone (the Best Western Chocolate Lake was previously reported in the Halifax zone.) In terms of the 2*, I'd be extremely concerned with a property that gets a 25% approval rating from HOTWIRE customers. The 3* could be the Best Western upgraded to 3* and missing the previously seen beachfront amenity, but that would be definitely only a guess, and this could absolutely also be something else. No hotels are showing with the amenity set previously seen with the BW (Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry and it was previously reported at the 2.5* level)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches (our the Best Western link from our Support Page should you decide to go that route). SillyTrix
Hi,Thanks for all your help. I don't think there's much info anywhere regarding these other 'Bedford/Chocolate Lake' hotels so I better not trust myself to book blindly via Hotwire or Priceline.I did check for a date, for fun, at the end of April and the amenities that match Best Western Chocolate Lake does pop up in Hotwire with 3 stars. However, they are still gathering reviews for that property. Seeing how this hotel does pop up in Hotwire with the previously posted amenities, perhaps it is just not available during the weekend when I'm there.Again, thanks for your help .. I will use the links when I book my stay. Link to comment
SillyTrix
Hello, We decided to book with the wedding group that provided a group rate at the Best Western Chocolate Lake. It was a great stay, though. Thanks again for all your help! Link to comment
