arbitrageur
Requesting bidding assistance for a 4* hotel in the Granville Entertainment District (1st choice) or Downtown Vancouver (2nd choice) from 7/27/11 to 8/1/11 with a max bid of $140.I'd also like help identifying the following 4* properties on Hotwire for the same dates (1 room, 2 adults).1. $161 - 4* Vancouver Entertainment District. Amenities = Suite, Smoke Free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet, Kitchenette2. $131 - 4* Vancouver West. Amenities = Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet, SpaThanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Requesting bidding assistance for a 4* hotel in the Granville Entertainment District (1st choice) or Downtown Vancouver (2nd choice)...Did you want to bid for the Granville zone first up to your limit, then if rejected try for the Downtown zone... or is your goal the least expensive 4* in either of these two zones? The 4* Entertainment District property is a match for the Westin while the Downtown West property is a match for the Sheraton Wall Centre, so that would be my best guess for each of these. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. arbitrageur
I think I'll switch things around a bit. I'd like to bid downtown up to the limit first, then Granville. Thx! Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105I'd start with the above. Since you wanted to go up to your limit first for a hotel in the Downtown zone we'll stop here for this bidding cycle, and if the above is rejected continue on to your $125 limit, then if that is rejected start over for the Granville zone.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. arbitrageur
As an update, I'm still working on booking a hotel in these zones, but have changed my dates to 7/29 - 8/1. All other parameters are the same. Please let me know if you think I should revise the previous bidding strategy. Link to comment
thereuare
These new dates are actually a little higher then the dates you dropped, so i think bidding for the fewer nites has mad this a tougher bid, not easier.Have you done any bidding yet for the new set of dates? Did you still want to bid for Downtown only up to your limit before adding Granville OR is your goal the least expensive in either of these two zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. arbitrageur
I bid up to $125 in both zones separately. At this point, I am open to the least expensive 4* in either zone and would be willing to raise the max bid if necessary. Link to comment
thereuare
Using your FIVE re-bid zones i'd re-try as follows:Select 4* Downtown...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Granville...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Granville and Downtown...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. arbitrageur
Unsuccessful on priceline bids. Checked out Hotwire again and saw that the Downtown West property was no longer available. Booked the Entertainment District property with the same amenities listed above, and as predicted, was the Westin Grand Vancouver for $156/night using the HOTWIRE link. Thank you! Link to comment
