Priceline Hotel: Need Help with San Diego

I'm trying to help my family find a decent rate any time between this and next weekend: 7/27-7/28, 7/30-7/31, or 8/03-08/04.

Every time I've stayed in San Diego, I've always found something in the $45-$75, at 3, 3.5, and 4 stars, even a few times within the summertime; but, I can't vouch for this specific season, or any extensive travel experience, like I believe some other users here probably can.

The caveat here, is that there are 2 adults and 4 children in the party. But, if there are not any hotels with two bedrooms- each room with two beds- within reason... then they could always just book 2 rooms- at the right rate- and just call ahead to ask for adjoining rooms... At least that's my theory.

Please help.

To begin, if your family members will be booking the room themselves, please ask them to stop by the board here and click the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links at the top of the board (or use the search boxes themselves) to begin their purchases.

Which San Diego zone(s) are they willing to accept? What is their target budget? While you can call the hotel received and request adjoining rooms, there is no guarantee the hotel will be able, or willing. to accommodate this request (some hotels don't have adjoining rooms... or they may have very few and those are already booked)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these links before replying.

Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there.

Lets shoot for 3.5 stars, 3 minimum, and between $45 & $75, anywhere in or around San Diego. My research indicates that this may not currently be available, due to anticipated high seasonal occupancy during this and next weekend.

So, I'm asking for help because I'm trying to find either the needle in the haystack, or the next best thing.

Do you want to try for a 3.5* first, then if rjected, try for a 3*? You know their plans better than we do... please list their acceptable zones by PRICELINE name.
