I am looking for a hotel room for 2 adults and a 17 year old in Boston, 12/26-12/28 2010. We are going to a show (Wang) and daughter is auditioning for Rockettes (near Boston Garden), and we'd like to eat in the North End, so I've been looking at that end of town. Hotwire comes up with three hotels in my price range in the Quincy Market/Financial District. Help on identification would be appreciated:

Three stars, non-smoking, fitness center, restaurant, high speed internet, $85/nt;

Four stars, boutique, non-smoking, fitness center, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, tennis nearby, $132/nt;

Three and one-half stars, boutique, non-smoking, fitness center, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, $116/nt.

There is also a Waterfront area/convention center hotel (ns, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, internet, spa, $109 per nt) that is interesting. I am guessing this might be the Westin, but really have no idea. I grew up outside of Boston and am familiar with the City and traveling via the T, but have no clue about anything that's happened in the past 20 years, including the waterfront/convention center area and silver line. Is it difficult to commute using the Silver Line? Will it take forever to get to my destinations?

I have a reservation at the Marriott at Long Wharf (AAA rate $129/nt) and might just go with that, but I love to get a DEAL when traveling, and I think the waterfront area hotel might just be that deal! Any ID on above hotels or other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

We ended up staying at the Marriott Long Wharf at the AAA price of $129 per night. It was an interesting trip; we arrived in Boston at the beginning of a blizzard! The weather was so bad that even Quincy Market was closed on Monday- no food court, restaurant, or shops! We had a great trip, but different from what we'd envisioned when I was planning.
