  1. Hi! My dates are 11/29/15-12/02/15. I used the links from this site to find a Hot.wire deal for $166/night. Amenities Beachfront hotel Business center Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry Spa services Free Internet 90% recommended and the note at the top says: Book soon! The last person got the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort Is this likely the Outrigger or something else? And, does anyone know if, when you do one of these, you automatically get the least desirable room? Thank you for any help! Sherri
  2. After nearly a week of bidding, I was able to get the Grange St. Paul's Hotel for 2 June-5 June for $177/night. With Priceline fees, total was $650. The hotel looks lovely and I'm relieved to have this process completed. Very stressful!
  3. Hello! I have been bidding for nearly a week now and I'm not having any luck. I don't see any winning bids for my days on the forum, so I don't know if I'm way out of range or I need to try a different strategy (splitting nights or something like that). Here is what I would like: Dates: June 2-5, 2011 Area: Mayfair/Soho, London Bridge or (last choice) Westminster Star level: 4 or 5 I've made several bids and have gone up as high as $170 for a 4 or 5 star in any of the above areas. All were rejected. I'm seeing winning bids for 4 star hotels in these areas (albeit at different time periods - May/August) for $80! The absolute maximum I can go is $200 since Priceline adds another $100+ in taxes/fees. Can someone tell me if my bids seem reasonable or if I should just forget it and try to pay less for a lower star hotel? Any bidding strategies would be most appreciated! I'm starting to panic a little as the date gets closer. Thanks! Sherri
  4. Hi everyone, I'm a long-time reader, first-time poster. I have used Priceline Name-Your-Own-Price successfully throughout the US and was considering using it on our upcoming trip to Europe. However, having read through some of the topics here, I am concerned about possible restrictions on children in the room. Here is my situation: My husband and I will be traveling with our three girls (an 8 year-old and 5 year-old twins). We are accustomed to having our kids sleep in our bed, especially in hotels. I understand that rooms will not be like those in the US and we are fine with being cramped. We only need the hotel to sleep in - we never (and I mean never) spend much time in the hotel, so a small room is fine. I know Priceline only accommodates a double and Hotwire only allows you to add up to two children. Are either of these services an option for us or am I out of luck? We can squeeze everyone into two twin beds or a queen bed (we've done it before), but my concern is whether we would even be permitted to do this regardless of our personal comfort level. Does anyone have experience with this that can offer some insight? We have hotels reserved already for London and Edinburgh, so my area of need would be three nights in Paris in mid-June (June 11-14) if that makes any difference. Thank you, Sherri
