  1. Okay. So $70 for BW Plus Edison. So you were correct. Booked two rooms. Regards, H4B
  2. thanks for the intel. Struggling with no "smoke-free" rooms. Although it is NC. Probably will pull the trigger in a few hours.

(thought they would get a 3* but I don't stay there much)
  4. Debrief - It was much better than low quality hotels outside of Columbia. One rec. is to NOT stay on the 2nd flr. Pool and entry from parking garage is through part of second floor hallway. Fair amount of noisy foot traffic.
  5. PL bid $51. not accepted but returned message to increase to $73. All in it is $90. This is a business trip and had to stay at a couple armpit hotels the last two visits. Hopefully downtown Marriott will show better.
  6. Fort Lauderdale Beach 4.5* (Zone 5)

Update. Thru SPG i was able to get a rate of $99 /nt for 8/10 & 11 at the Westin Beach Resort Fort Lauderdale. Thanks for the note about the Support Page links to hotel reservation sites - was not aware of that.
  7. Fort Lauderdale Beach 4.5* (Zone 5)

Length of stay is flexible. Check in on 8/10. 1, 2 or 3 night stay. update - I just checked the Westin website and they are offering $104/nt for the Fort Lauderdale Beach location. That is a nice hotel IMO. Significantly better than the W. Thanks.
  8. Big music festival that w/e. A few sites (Renaissance midtown - Marriott.com) aren't even accepting reservations online for this date. Looking for a 3* or higher (prefer 3.5 or 4) Priceline.Express deals in midtown for that w/e are: 5* $302/nt (10% svgs) - probably the Leows Hotel 4* $232 /nt - don't know which hotel (doesn't matter at the price listed amenities are pets, restaurant, fitness, fee internet, business center) Haven't checked Hot.wire yet. For anybody else looking to stay close to Music Midtown, let's work together on this... thanks.
  9. @whoeps - Some suggestions. Hope this helps. You are in a great area. You haven't stated how long you are staying, when, or if you are traveling with family, etc. About parking fees. You probably don't need to rent a car for your entire visit. The midtown Marta station is 2-1/2 blocks away and an EASY walk (you can take a train direct from/to the airport). Somewhere near Spring and 5th St. (Georgia Tech Bookstore), there is a zip car rental. They do hourly car rentals. If you only need transportation to restaurants & bars, UBER is a driving service that is ubiquitous in the ATL. The have a phone app that shows you where drivers are and how much a ride costs (cheaper than taxis and better). If your plans for Atlanta are limited to midtown / downtown / Buckhead, you absolutely don't need a car unless you are lugging around a bunch of equipment. Let us know how you do and please provide the dates of your "win". H4B
  10. Thanks for sharing, Tino. We stayed at Victor a few years back. Art Deco hotel in a nice location. Enjoy your stay.
  11. Fort Lauderdale Beach 4.5* (Zone 5)

Update. Booked 2 nts. 8/8 & 9 in Palm Beach at Chesterfield. Highest rated Palm Beach Hotel on Tripadvisor. Did not use Priceline or Hotwire. $176+ sales tax per night. Looking for a place to stay on Fort Lauderdale Beach or Miami Beach for 8/10, 11 & 12. MIght visit both depending on deals available. Would like info on the 4.5* on FLL Beach.
  12. 3* Atlanta Midtown, 1nt. $45 failed

Thank you for the analysis. Did not book a room. I'm local. Commuted.
  13. 4.5* Deluxe Plus Amenities Pool, Restaurant, Fitness Ctr, Business Ctr 8+ rating Who Dat? Thanks.
  14. Tried to get a cheap crashpad in Midtown tonight (Fri) to save commuting for a conference. Bid $45 for 3* for one night. Got this screen: <link removed> Hmm, I guess this site doesn't allow links to images. PRICELINE returned a result encouraging me to increase my offer $12 to $57 (plus fees would be around $75). Didn't bite but maybe it could help someone else.
  15. @snowolf - don't second guess yourself. You got a great deal at a one of a kind destination. Have fun stumbling around Duval St.!
