  1. Thanks to the Administrator's help in identifying it, the 3 star hotel in the FLL Hotwire list of hotels, airport area, for $75 in late April is Best Western Plus Fort Lauderdale Airport South Inn and Suites. With taxes, we paid $93, vs. the internet-only pre-paid price at the BW website of $133. Thanks!!
  2. Thank you for your reply. You are absolutely correct; that is the precise hotel I just purchased. It gets good reviews on Trip Advisor, which is always a concern for me. I used the HOTWIRE link you included in your reply and got the hotel for $75, plus $18 in taxes. Total $93. This is a fantastic website with so many helpful people, including yourself.
  3. This 3-star hotel in the FLL Airport Area is listed at $76 for April 26. Here are the amenities using the BiddingHelper.com link: FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower. Best guess as to the hotel? Is this a reasonable choice for a pre-cruise stay? Thank you.
  4. Thanks for everyone's help. I tried $80 with PRICELINE, rejected, so I went with HOTWIRE (and used your link) and their 3-star FLL airport zone hotel at $87. I got, as you predicted, the Hyatt Summerfield Suites. Prices are considerably higher than April 2010 - a disappointment, but we did leave mid-month then and not April 27. Still, better than paying the hotel website's prices. Thanks again; this website is an awesome resource.
  5. Thank you for this awesome response! That pre-cruise hotel link is quite useful. I will add the downtown area + another $10 to my PRICELINE bid (and I will use your links here!, and if I am refused, I will choose that $87 hotel you pointed me to on HOTWIRE. Thank you, and wish me luck! Debbie
  6. I have been reading what others have bid and received for a hotel in the 3-star Priceline zones 3 (airport north) and 4 (airport). Some have won with a bid as low as $60 for an April stay. We want one room, Fri., April 27. With a series of 3 attempts, I went as low as 2.5 star and up to $72. No luck. Any suggestions as to how high I should bid? We would like that 3-star Hyatt Pl. South that 2 others bidders have won, as we've stayed there before. What might we get for a 2.5 star (Priceline) hotel? Thank you!
  7. I read plenty of posts before I bid on Priceline, and I did click on the PRICELINE link from this website to purchase. At least, I thought I did....
  8. I just won a Priceline bid - 2 nights in Portland, Maine, for $99 a night, Sept. 7-9. The hotel I won is the Clarion. Maybe I should have started bidding lower!! This was my one and only bid and the very first time with Priceline.
  9. Just used the HOTWIRE link on this website to book the Hyatt Place FLL Airport South for April 11, 2011. The hotel was listed on HOTWIRE as 3* FLL Airport Amenities: shuttle, smoke-free, breakfast, fitness center, wireless internet 100% positive reviews Price: $62 = $~$75 with taxes. Thanks for all the help on this board.
  10. Sorry I forgot to add the dates. They are June 11-12, 2010.
  11. On April 11, I bid $35 for a 2.5 star hotel in Waco - area 2. I won on my first try!! This hotel is $80 on any number of other sites (Travelocity, Hotels.com, etc.). I used the PRICELINE link from the BetterBidding home page, but I was not logged in. I hope that did not matter. Thanks to the other individuals who posted about Waco, as I was able to determine how low to start my bid. Maybe I should have started at $32!! My sister, who has a daughter at Baylor, has stayed at the Clarion and loves it.
