  1. Priceline Bid Update Bid #1: 3* - Miami Airport only, $46 - rejected Bid #2 : 3* - Added downtown, $55 - rejected Had to quit - was doing this at work. Since we need 3 rooms, I felt we needed to be more flexible so .... Bid #3 Added Coconut Grove, $64 - accepted Wyndham Grand Bay Coconut Grove 4*. Wyndam website offers hotel at $143 for pre-paid, non refundable web rate. Little concerned based on Trip Advisor reviews - but it's got to be better than a $90 Comfort Inn at the airport. :) Thanks for the help.
  2. Miami Downtown, South Beach and Miami Beach would all be OK.
  3. Would like to go no higher than $100 for a one-night stay. Since final destination is the port of Miami - would like to try and stay within 5-miles. Not sure which zone falls into that category.
  4. Not sold on the Marriott - just looking for a nicer (clean!) hotel that is not too far from the pier and offers some sort of services within walking distance. We are a multi-generation group and will need to accommodate teens to seniors. Not lloking to "do" anything in particular just want options. Thanks for the suggestions!
  5. We are looking to stay in Miami for one night, June 25th. We would like a nicer property in walking distance to something prior to boarding a cruise. The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay has gotten good reviews and is on the pinned list for Miami. My question is how do I identify it on Priceline (or can I)? Would appreciate tips for this stay whether or not they apply to this hotel.
  6. This inquiry was on behalf of a friend who is picky and will likely now decline the opportunity to save money in fear of an undesireable outcome. Will forego this effort.
  7. I see that the Loews Coronado and Westin Horton Plaze have been pinned on Priceline. Would like a bidding strategy for these properties for a 2-night stay 10/8-10/10. Thanks for any assistance.
  8. Thanks for the detective work. For the money, we'll hope this weeks 4.5* is the Westin. Not sure I would put the Hyatt at 5* compared to other properties in the area.
  9. Was checking Hotwire for a one-night stay in North Scottsdale - looking to see if the 4.5* presumed Westin Kierland was available. Surprised to see a 5* offering at $104 a night. For this area, my thoughts are that this could be the Scottsdale Princess. But also in the area is the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge and (oh.. could it be) the Four Seasons at Troon? Any thoughts from past experience?
  10. Ideally we would like to go sometime in the next 3 weeks over the weekend. Because we are flexible, we're hoping to use the advise from this board to obtain the best possible pricing outcome. As far as a budget - that's hard to say. I suppose if push comes to shove we'd go as high as $150 a night - but that's really part of the question. What is a realistic bid strategy for this hotel over a summer weekend? What can we expect to pay? What should our bid strategy be? Any advise would be appreciated!
  11. This desert dweller really needs a weekend at the beach (Huntington or Newport). The Hyatt Huntington looks really inviting - but retail is oh so pricey. Looking for suggestions, tips, and realistic insight on how to successfully bid for this hotel or one of similiar quality/location. Any suggestions and tips on how to secure a weekend stay would be truly appreciated. Would like to try and go sometime in the next few weeks.
