So I booked on PRICELINE, hoping to get Caesars. I ended up with Harrah's. Priceline rate was $225 a night. I went to the hotel website and checked the rates for that weekend. The cheapest room was $242/night (average rate). I am disappointed that Priceline rate wasn't much of a discount!! I was much happier when I thought I was bidding on Caesars, avg rate $374!!!
I ended up renting a car from Hertz directly because they had a spring break special where they waived the additional $27/day. So the rate was higher (than what i would have got on priceline/hotwire), but it worked out because I didn't have the additional fee.
For the weekend of 8/28-8/30 4* Downtown Atlantic City Pool, Restaurant 3.5* Beachfront, Casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, high speed, spa Any idea what hotels these are? They don't quite match up with hotels on the list. Thanks.
Ok. I wasn't sure if it was an error or what. I am bidding for a compact car and my bidding history is $15,20,25,30,35. Keep in mind that I am 23, so with I have to pay an additional $27/day on top of the regular rental rate. The best price I have found is $220 (incl $27/day) with Hertz, so I am willing to bid higher. I will rebid tonight and let you know what I end up doing. Thanks!
I having been trying to bid on a rental car through Priceline. After I put in all my information and place a bid, I get "Unfortunately, our Name Your Own Price service was unable to locate an available rental car for the area and dates you selected. However, we have found a broad selection of rental car options below." and then a list of regular price rentals. Has anyone else encountered this before? Here are the details of my trip and I am under 25: 3/28-3/31 from Newark Airport, NJ edit: also it lets me rebid immediately in the same browser window!
first i have to admit, i was on another forum... anyways, I saw that someone won the Cadogan for $160 on priceline on the same dates that I am interested in (12/13-12/16). so then i came back to BB and i used the PRICELINE link. i started at $130 and used zones without a 5* to bid up to $155, when my bid was accepted. :) i will add this to the priceline forum as well. :)
also i am thinking of bidding on a 5* in mayfair-soho on PRICELINE, but i don't want to get le meridien piccadilly. HOTWIRE is currently offering le meridien for $239 so i think there is a good chance it is on priceline as well. what do you think?
I have booked the sheraton tower as my back up (purchased on Expedia + $14 for Expedia Hotel and Activities & Services Cancellation Penalty Waiver, cancel up to 48 hrs for a full refund). I am still interested in the 5* HOTWIRE hotel. I think it might be the Cadogan Hotel. I found it on the leading hotels of the world website (hotwire supplier). It is the only one listed as a boutique hotel with tennis courts and it still has standard rooms available (all other types are sold out).
the 4* in Kensington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge with tennis and spa, restaurant, business center, and fitness center is K West. It is a little far out (near Earl's Court/ Shepherds Bush), not in what I would consider to be Kensington - Chelsea - Knightsbridge, but in the Hotwire defined area. :)
