1. $75 first bid accepted. $180+ on other sites. Would have used Port of Long Beach area for free rebid. Total $93.89 with fees & taxes. Used the board PRICELINE link!
2. Priceline EXPRESS Deal! Used your link and also the 10% discount. Total for 2 nights with tax/fees and discount was $383.50. I think we'll be happy with this "win." Listed amenities were Free Internet, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center, 8.0 Rating, Guest Favorite.
3. Started with $44 and used free rebids at $49 and then $54. On-line basic rate was $96. Total $70 with taxes and fees. Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link.
4. I'm also looking to book in FLL, but I'm confused on some of the star ratings. This thread listed the Hilton Marina as a 4*, but the Better Bidding Priceline Hotel list shows it as a 3*. When was the last time the hotel list was updated?
5. Was hoping for the DoubleTree (warm cookies are GREAT) like some recent posters got, but this should be OK for a quick overnighter... Got it on the first bid, didn't have to use the one available re-bid. $53.06 with tax. Cheapest on hotel website was $107.
6. Lisa, I remember my 1st time, and trying to learn all the "tricks of the trade" can be somewhat daunting... Congratulations on your win! I'm not sure if you know this or not, but another hint is to browse these boards for postings listing "winning" prices for the city, zone and star rating you're interested in. It helps to know what prices others have been getting around the dates you're interested in. There's also a Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins available that makes things much easier. For instance, I got the exact same hotel for two nights on 1/22 and 1/23 (a week before your stay) for the exact same price (110/nt). Enjoy your stay! Paul
7. Started at $91 since I had seen previous wins at 91 and 96. I had to increase a few times by adding non-4* zones. Original bid was for Thurs 1/22 only, then successfully added the second night (Fri) after winning at $110. 2 general questions/comments for the experts: 1) Does the time of day or day of week matter for placing your bids? In other words, do you get worse prices at night and on weekends? 2) Priceline's web site wasn't clear that the add a night feature was just another bid at the same price. I thought it was guaranteed that you could extend at whatever price you originally "won." Had I known this, I probably would have made the original bid for 2 nights. I guess I got lucky by getting the Friday night addition. Any tips on whether bidding for more nights right off the bat is better when staying over a Thursday and Friday nights before a cruise? Perhaps a new information topic regarding this priceline feature might be a big help for board users (or is it already there and I just missed it?). Thanks for the help & info. Paul P.S. I used your PRICELINE link! Forgot to mention that this was FLL Downtown zone and I couldn't figure out how to edit the topic title.
8. Just got the 5* Pan Pacific for one night on 9/23/2007 for $169 usd ($200.13 total w/taxes & fees) Listed Ammenities were: Fitness Center - Pool(s) - Restaurant(s) - Business Center - High Speed Internet Access - Spa Services Trip Advisor 4.0 Rating Other web sites showed available rates starting at $320+ Sure will make a VERY convenient and enjoyable way to spend the day between two cruises... :) Paul
9. Sorry, 9/23/07, 1 nite, $175 offered on Hotwire
10. Help ID - 4* Vancouver DT(west) Customer Favorite - Botique, Fitness center, Restaurant, High Speed Internet, Spa, Airport sguttle, Pool, Laundry, Kitchenette If I'm figuring this out correctly, it looks to me to be the Pacific Palisades ---- Anyone agree? Thanks for helping out a newbie...
