  1. Mapquest shows it as about a 10-15 minute drive from Post Falls to Cour D'Alene
  2. No, I'd initially wanted downtown until the price started getting high enough to justify looking elsewhere. Started bidding this zone at $35 for a 3* and worked up to $40 from there.
  3. Yes, it's a single-zone area, so I didn't want to spend weeks rebidding it every 72 hours and went a little higher than I normally would have to start on a 2 1/2* .

I PLed this hotel last summer at a similar price. EDIT: The dates in the message are correct, the date in the byline is one day off.
  8. I wasn't really fussy on which zone I landed in, so I rebid in $2-3 increments with a combo of 4 zones (3 that matched, and one freebie rebid) This one is the Courtyard on Corporate Drive.

Moved to DC Subs and tried 3*s from $45 - $50 then 2 1/2*s starting at $35. Bid through Savingsbarn.
  10. Just wanted to follow up on this, as we did have some difficulties with the car, but Alamo handled it professionally. The trip was to St Louis and Branson, and the first day after picking up the car, we drove the 4-hours to Branson. Along the way the cruise control quit, the service light came on and the theft system light came on. Once we got to Branson, we called the service number and they arranged for an exchange in Springfield which added another 1 1/2 hours of drive time to the day. On the way to Springfield the dash guages stopped working, so I drove the last 20 miles with no spedometer! I've never had so many problems with a rental car before, and the thing only had 6,000 miles on it. :) We were able to return the car empty, after almost 6 hours of driving it, basically draining the tank, and got upgraded to a midsize for all the added trouble. So my compensation was the upgrade and a free tank of gas. The rest of the trip in the other car went off without a hitch.
  11. I vaguely recall my parents getting that Residence Inn in Kalamazoo through Priceline when I was in college there almost 5 years ago. There really aren't a lot in the 3* range in Kzoo which is probably why you aren't getting much, but the 2 1/2* hotels in the area are fine and in good areas, and I think there is a chance you could get the Residence Inn on Kilgore as a 2 1/2* bid on PL.

  14. I snuck it in at a dollar less than your suggestion. :) I got a rebid offer at $100 for $122, and basically tried every permutation of zone combos (the math geek in me loves this stuff) working my way up in very small increments from $85. Congratulations, you got your price of $109 for a 4-star hotel room. The Westin Seattle Downtown Seattle 1900 Fifth Ave Seattle, Washington 98101 206-728-1000 Check-In Date: Saturday, June 5, 2004 Check-Out Date: Monday, June 7, 2004 Your Offer Price: $109.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $218.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $40.66 Total Charges: $258.66
  15. 4* Seattle Downtown 6/5-6/7 (Saturday - Monday) I've been attempting this one for a couple weeks now, routinely bidding everywhere from $50-$100 a night and not catching anything. I suspect that it's the Saturday/Sunday night combo that's hurting me, and I wouldn't mind paying more for one night if I got the other one cheaper, but I'd also prefer not to change hotels. Any suggestions? Thanks, Beth
