Bid the Baltimore area in its entirety for $45 and got the Towson Holiday Inn on the first try. Taxes are $32.26 for this hotel.

For some reason, this week was higher than normal for Baltimore area hotels. We started bidding at $45 for Fort Meade/Hanover, Columbia, Ellicot City and BWI. Went up to $55 and were denied on our first try. The next day I added the same hotels in the same order starting at $45 with the same result. On the third day I was able to book the Holiday in at $55 a night for the week. Taxes for this hotel were $37.94.

I started a bid for a 4* at $85 in Georgetown... denied. Upped bid to $90 and added Woodley Park/Dupont... denied. Added White House and upped bid to $95... got the Sofitel. Taxes were $21.05. After staying at a 4* in Woodley Park (Omin Shoreham) the two days prior to this, we were suprised that they were both considered 4*. The Sofitel is easily a 5*, though I realize that Priceline doesn't go that high. Amazing service, decor, etc. We were truly pleased. We requested two doubles as we were travelling with two children and a non-smoking room. The front desk was more than accomodating and helpful. FYI, we were unable to do the TV checkout at this hotel, due to having prepaid through Priceline. This was an excellent value, IMO, during the Cherry Blossom Festival and downtown. These rooms were going for $480 when I checked for the same night.

I used the tip about the Omni and signed up for their reward program before we left, but apparently they've changed the program b/c you don't get your reward welcome packet until after your first stay, so I haven't received it yet. Taxes on this room were $32.40. We requested a non-smoking, two beds and were well-received. They happily accomodated us and the service was good. This was during Cherry Blossom weekend, so an excellent value, IMO. Rooms at this hotel for the same dates were going for $360.
